If you can't catalog a big list of items that annoy you about him, you're in the infatuation phase.

I know Whitney Houston didn't know what she was singing about when she sang, "How Will I Know"... but in my experience, you only question yourself on this once. Love is alien and a Grand Game Changer. If you're moved to think about him all day, and want to do whatever he does you're probably infatuated. Been there. If you have no clue what is going on, why songs sound so different than before, why you worry about them as soon as they go, and you're okay doing simple everyday things in your pajamas with them, then there may be a chance you're in love with someone who loves you. But love is too complex to define or truly fully explain.

Infatuation is heavy sided to oneself. Love is still one-sided. One never know what anyone else feels in this world. However, love is when a mutual respect and trust becomes an envelope overcasting any other sense of sensuality. When your riding in a car with someone, look over at them and the very first feeling that comes to you is the truth. Love to me is the want to look longer, to see their facial expression and live in it. Sadness is mine too, maybe they're rolling their head with the music and all you want to do is feel the music with them, or you already do. Infatuation is when you look at them and say, "your hot" or you just want to give head in the car. Love isn't passion, it's a life outside both you and the others involved which nobody has full control over. It's a ghost of a person that all parties make up and can be waved away at any moment with a changing of tides. Love is not always never-ending. The ghosts of the love will always be with all involved, but control is not a member.

Love comes from deep inside. It is a spiritual thing. Most folks do not recognize this within themselves because they are stuck looking outwards instead of inwards.

Infatuation is a mental or intellectual exercise recognizing in another person what we would like to be like ourselves or admire about ourselves. It is the ego.
