Welcome to the newbies here on RealJock!
We know who you are because you have less than 10 posts!

Here are a few suggestions and tips for those of you who have less than 10 posts from the whole RealJock community! (I encourage those of us with more than 100 posts to chime in as well)

All right! Let's go! I'll start.

#1 Have a sense of humor.
These are the interwebz and butt-hurt flies free around here...especially around newbies. Lack of sense of humor attracts ass-rape. Woo Whee! You should have seen just how hard the community gave it to one boy from New Iberia, LA when he lost his sense of humor. It was epic lulz for us! (Dont know what "epic lulz" are? See #2)

    #2 Look before you leap.
Consider the wisdom of Goggling unfamiliar terms, browsing the forums, searching the forums, reading previously posted threads before posting your question, random comment, story, or rant. Most likely, your question has been asked before and can be answered by looking and seeking before speaking. If all of a sudden you see posts directed towards you which seem sarcastic, mean spirited or downright evil, please refer to #1 above.

    #3 When in doubt, don't!
Once you post something, you have very little time to retract it before it becomes permanently memorialized. And, while you still have less than 100 posts, the eyes of the community will be watching to determine if you're for real, or if you're some kind of sock-puppet/troll/asshat. Oh! And, "Thread Necro"? Better know what you're doing before you bring back the dead. (Don't know what "Thread Necro" is? See # 2 above)

    #4 Have fun!
While you're here, have a fagulously, gay/bi/str8/asexual time! Nobody digs a buzz-killer. Get to know folks. Meet in real life! Because if you don't ever bring any of virtual community to "in real life" community, it's just more mental masturbation.

Thanks for the welcome. I'll be sure to limit what I post since everything points back to #2.

100-200 posts is the new newbie. Those members who are relatively new and hellbent on being regular posters making you quickly realize who is this dumb kid posting over and over.

Even at 600+ posts I still feel like a newbie.

This is a good statement to keep in mind. Ive been an off/on frequenter of the forums, and I know I can easily fall into this trap.

#4 is the most important rule if you ask me.

maybe not use lingo that only those with 1000+ know

people aren't going to google every term, it's easier to just use understandable alternative words

I'm sure that some sort of enlightenment, hazing, or other ritual will come when I hit 10,000. Or not.

    #5 Someone somewhere will

attack you/troll you for (some reason, like spelling/grammar, not being verified, not having pictures, etc...)

Some people don't have an opinion on most topics, or they don't feel a need to express it.
Some guys are perfectly happy to lurk in the background and read other guys' posts.

Where as, I have a BIG MOUTH.

This is soooo not what I thought this thread was about. And for the record, I was coming to receive advice, not give it.
