Mitsubishi MIEV - Greenest car in America

"the greenest car in America prize went to the Mitsubishi i-MIEV, a battery-operated 100% electric car that has no gas tank, gets the equivalent of 112 MPG, and produces zero on-road emissions, therefore no exhaust fumes (meaning it has no tailpipe to break off the next time you curb your car coming out of McDonald’s). Even better? It’s awfully cute. $22,000, i.Mitsubishicars.com"

I think that it would be good for city driving. Maybe people that live in beach communities. Good second car option. icon_smile.gif

How often do you drive more than 60 miles a day. For me, a few times a year.

"How far can the Mitsubishi i go on a single charge?
Based on independent EPA testing, the Mitsubishi i can travel 62 miles7 on a full charge, in typical driving conditions. Incidentally, the EPA's MPGe ratings came in at 126 City and 99 Highway for a combined 112 MPGe—making the Mitsubishi i the most efficient electric vehicle in its class.12"

As we get more and more of them on the road, there will also be more charging stations in parking lots.

"Is there a power outlet in the car? Can I plug in my laptop or other appliances?
Yes to both. The Mitsubishi i is equipped with a standard auxiliary 12V power outlet. All you need is the correct adapter and you can charge your laptop and even operate household or camping appliances. However, please keep in mind that using the Mitsubishi i as a portable battery will have an effect on its available driving range."

That would cover my commute, and I have a horrible one. I like that electric cars don't burn fuel when they aren't moving. I only drive 20 miles, but it takes at least 45 minutes.
