Certainly, McCain has been slammed in many forums for "flip flop" politics and some one even called him "Flipper"

While this is debated - often the accusers seem to define Obama as stringet...

This makes for interesting/informative reading. I'm not "picking" sides, but thought I open this up for review.

So don't shoot the messenger, but feel free to "read" and comment.

damn, the link didn't apply... you can shoot me for having to cut and paste. icon_biggrin.gif

thanks for posting this !!! Let me go first with taking sides !! LOL !!!! I think that in Obama's case most of the republicans efforts to paint him as a flip flopper is contrived, and information is left out to help them accomplish their goal. The closest to flip flopping I find with Obama is his voting for Fisa, but even though he did vote for it in the end, he did vote for the amendment to take out immunity from the FISA bill, then when it failed he voted for the compromise. Most publications though have not included this in their critiques. McSame however, has directily and obviously completely went against what he had previously expressed by his words and his votes, and there needs to be no contriving to show it for what it is in his case, FLIP FLOPPING !!! He voted against some fo bush tax cuts, now he wants to cut them deeper and make some permanent, he pushed and pushed against torture, then turned around and voted for leaving the opportunity for it to happen again in the CIA when the dems tried to make them go by the same interigation rules as the army, saying he didn't want to TIE THEIR HANDS, he wanted them to have all options available. the list goes on, but these are the most glaring examples.

    ok,so call me crazy....
"Pretend" you're not a staunch "Democrat"
    and....

I agree, for the record, Bush will likely go down as the LEAST popular President... Short of Nixon, who regained love after impeachment... But has been (recently) exposed as quite a sadistic, liar, selfserving, etc (in recent years)...

And keep in mind, I did not intend this as a dem/repub debate... But as a simple, non-partisian (lol, yeah cuz that exists in politics) feed-back forum...

    ...who's next? icon_wink.gif

What a terrible article. It's list of links is ridiculous, as if they author read the headline and not the article. So McCain did not support the Bush Tax cuts in 2001 but he does now. The economy is not the same as it was and his ideas could have changed. And the Obama Iraq thing is insipid. How many times does the man have to say '16-months' before people believe him.

The flip-flopping narrative is such a non-issue. Ya, I think Obama's change on FISA was bad and McCain's change on torture, Habeas Corpus, the Religious Right, and a dozen other things was bad. But I want a president to change policy. George W Bush created the narrative that a Commander in Chief should be beholden to his failed policies before he considers criticism. It didn't work in his presidency and it wont work in any other.

I puke on you AOL news.

Hey MunchingZ---Man if your gonna puke on AOL news, you'll end up puking your guts out, cause just about all the mainstream media seem to have been slanting news by leaving out facts so they can stick with bush talking points. AOL I think stands among "Prominant" company for what you accuse them of. Be "NICE" to our pro-establishment media, man they can't help themselves !!! LOL !!!!! Back to the subject now !!! In my memory, there hasn't ever been flip flopping of this magnitude, on the other hand I don't remember a time when so much is at stake in a presidential election. (bodyWork4-man I took my Democratic hat off for your topic, is this better? LOL !!!! Man I'm trying!!!!!

I guess, like the song says,"I'm goin'to the chapel and I'm gonna get married."

I also have a pair with tattered edges, for the divorce about 20 minutes later.icon_smile.gif

Yes Senator McCain is a flip flopper. It's sad too but one does what one must. He has no choice but to play to the Republican base, it's called hunting where the ducks are.
Like me, national security during a time of national emergency is his first concern. So, whatever it takes to win is alright by me. Everything else can be sorted out later, while we still have a country left.

I have to say, isn't interesting that a forum that started as a political question, quickly turned to fashion and then sexual "role" preferred...

    A-D-D, much icon_biggrin.gif

Hopefully you'll leave the latter two out of your decision making when in the voting booth.
But please do dress appropiately when you vote... icon_cool.gif

    haha
