I'm just starting out with Insanity and it probably seems crazy that I'm suggesting doing a weightlifting routine at the same time. LOL! I wanted to know if anyone else is doing this.

The reason I'm asking is because I do Insanity at the gym and there's group exercise room which frees up sometimes at 7:30pm but other times at 8:30pm. The room opens up at 7:30pm on Tuesday and Thursday. The rest of the week it's open 8:30pm. Weekend it's open up pretty much any time. I go workout after work but don't want to be at the gym so late since I can't do much of anything when I get home. So my idea was to do regular weightlifting routine on days that the exercise room opens up late and do Insanity whenever it opens up at 7:30pm.

My only concern is that the added weightlifting routine could injury me since Insanity is pretty crazy. If I don't do a weight routine, I was thinking I could do cardio or yoga so I'm at least still active most of the week. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks!

Hire a personal trainer. They can get the same results without injuring you.

Trollileo saidI'm doing it. I'm doing Insanity while doing RJ strength foundation routines as well as well as a whole bunch of cardio. I seem to be almost getting results.

OMG - Trolli - we won't recognize you. You are going to be so buff!!!

The problem is I can't exercise every day and I don't eat properly so I just have to pick up where I left off.

Well, if you are doing this type of routine, you do need to be eating more protein than what you have mentioned in the past. Good luck to you, though.

Damn! You have more stamina than me. When I was doing Insanity last year, I lifted weights once or twice a week but most of the time I felt completely spent just with the Insanity routine.

To the OP, if you're going to be adding more exercise to Insanity, my thoughts are to add some weight training for your back and biceps because I think those don't get hit as much as shoulders, chest and triceps.
