Jasonfest saidGood for them. This provision was signed into law from the man who was against the Patriot Act (but renewed it).
This action of Obama's was the final straw for me and many I know. The differences between the parties when it comes to militarism is non existent, its a cruel joke on the voting public. Obama talked out of one side of his mouth against militarism here at home and abroad / military adventurism around the world and if anything Obama took Bush's militarism one step further. This godamn law needs to be turned around and quick.
NEVER LET YOUR GOVERNMENT DO TO ANYONE WHAT YOU DON"T WANT DONE TO YOURSELF.
"Habeas Corpus" until Obama signed this extension of what Bush started, was one of the most important checks on our government power over us for over 200 years. It is now gone and Obama's weak 'signing statement' attempt at lessening the impact of what he signed, is but a sham to placate his base, because it is basically left in tact, his 'signing statement' only applies to himself while president. Sorry but we are not fooled, Again this godam law needs to be taken out in no uncertain terms.
The only reason Obama will get my vote is because he is the lessor evil when it comes to social issues, taxes and maybe slightly less likely to go to war with Iran than the Lobby lap dog republican Romney.
Beyond these two areas we're probably headed in the same direction no matter who gets in office.
