If Kate Bush and Adele had a love child it would be Lana Del Rey.

Lana del Rey is amazing. Though, she's nothing like the other two artist you mentioned.

<3 Summertime Sadness and National Anthem though.

    In her dreams

She's up there with Katy Perry and Rihanna for artistic merit.

Are you kidding me? Lana del Rey's artistic talents blow Katy Perry and Rihanna out of the water. I'd like to see either of those chicks make a life-relevant song while remaining coherently on point. LdR has something Perry nor Rihanna will ever have, and it's undefinable.

well I would not put her up with the likes of Kate Bush but I will say Lana Del Rey possesses a coolness factor about her that Katy Perry will never have

Honestly, I'd say Florence Welch moves closer to a hybrid of Kate Bush and Adele.

Definitely not. She seems more akin to manufactured 60's pop singers; a pretty face, a great voice, a bit of talent but lacks artistic control and identity.

Kate Bush broke new ground in top 40, mainstream music, bringing something a little more unique to the usual stale, boring crap on radio. Neither Adele nor Lana Del Ray do that.

    Totally agree.

Lana Del Rey reminds me more of Nancy Sintra. She isn't quirky enough to be Kate Bush but some of her vocals are Kate Bush-esque.

With Lana I never get the feeling that she's really in charge of her own image/sound. The whole controversy over her surgery/ record company assisted reinvention adds to my cynicism.

Born To Die is a great album though and it's a breath of fresh air to hear that type of music doing so well on the charts in this Guetta saturated/Euro Dance dominant time.

Lana Del Rey could not lift Kate Bush's, Adele's, Rihanna's, or Katy Perry's jockstraps with a forklift.

Until she can match the artists above in sales, hits, and/or influence she's just a one trick pony gimmick artist who needs to give Nancy Sinatra her swag back.

She can't hit a note. Kate Bush's legacy is safe.

Lana del Ray's voice makes me want to jump off a bridge. So slow, and a very limited low range.

It is highly unfortunate that Lana Del Rey was not born mute.

    I agree 100 %
Neither Katy Perry nor Lana Del Rey are cool in any sense of the word.
