When they begin tea-bagging you instead of spotting.

Have no idea what the gay ones do.

He makes you question your fragile hold on reality enough to post online.

long stares with smiles, and averting gaze once they've noticed you're looking at them.

99.99% of the men in Toronto gyms are guranteed to be gay, questioning them is NOT necessary.

If you feel a somewhat cool, metallic sensation while he's fingering you in the sauna. icon_razz.gif

Definitely true at Extreme and GoodLife. I moved to a smaller gym last month and don't think that's true anymore! I think it might even be under 50%.icon_eek.gif

Usually if they're checking you out, they're gay. Or sizing their competition. Or both.

    Very true.
Last night I briefly chatted with a guy in the sauna. In the past we would stare and never say anything to each other, very much cat and mouse. As I was leaving noticed he was still in by the exit doors, took the opportunity to introduce myself and shake his hand.

I must have taken him by surprise as he was tongue tied, blushed and never told me his name.icon_lol.gif

I've got about 5 guys at my gym I would love go get to know better but I'm also very cautious because I like my gym and wouldn't want to have to quit from embarrassment.

Try to see if they make eye contact or ask for a spot or something but try not to read into things too much.

Some homo came into the student gym the other day and was doing a light weight overhead triceps extension in one arm with his cell phone in the other ear and talking like a bitch. I smiled and laughed at him because I recognized a homo, but I wasn't turned on in anyway.

I think thats a huge myth and one that can make gyms an uncomfortable place for gay and straight men alike. I know my gym definitly has a lot of gay men but I would say there are as many, if not more straight men and its probably closer to the village than even the rainbow that is goodlife.

    LOL! An uncomfortable place? Explain?

And I was clearly exaggerating, but there are a more common number of gay men going to gyms, especially in downtown Toronto.

Uncomfortable in that if they're gay or straight doesn't matter unless you're cruising them. Some people don't enjoy being cruised at the gym, namely most straight men.

When I say cruised I mean being obvious about it. I dont' think there's anything wrong with looking briefly at a guy you're attracted to, thats just human. But we all know those guys at the gym that want you to KNOW they're looking. Its obnoxious.

Ok, if the straight men at the gym are too concerned about being cruised then they shouldn't be working in a public gym period. I'm pretty sure the straight men at the gym don't give two cents for the regular homo "cruising" them because the only thing they should be focused on at the gym is excersizing anyways.

And i'm sure the straight men get an ego boost if some other male (or female) make it seem obvious that they're looking at you cause they find you attractive.

Lol wow, really? They shouldn't be working out at a public gym if they don't want to be cruised...aka leered at? Are you for real? Maybe the guys doing the visual stalking should grow a pair and go say hi if they're so interested in someone. They'll quickly find out if the guy is interested in talking to them instead of leering at him from accross the room for 45 min.
