When does one become a 'nudist'?

So I did the Bare Burro Run here in SoCal last Sunday:

    http://www.olivedellranch.com/bburro.htm

Afterwards I relaxed by the pool and jacuzzi. It was a lot of fun. Some friends and I talked about camping next time there.

At what point does someone become a 'nudist'?

I'd say you're a nudist if you'd rather have no clothes on in a public setting in comparison to only in a private setting.

Yes its like when a straight guy has sex with another guy, (it only needs to be once,) he is gay.

Same thing in the world of RJ.icon_lol.gif

    well, for me
it was when I preferred being au natural over wearing clothes.
I choose being in environments where people are comfortable and secure with this freedom.
The environments may be my home, friends' homes, social invites
( beaches, pool parties/ house parties where clothes are optional).
Several countries such as Denmark,Germany, Netherlands, Portugal and Spain are open to au natural as the norm in special locations to prevent rude and disruptive audiences.

http://www.NudeRuns.com for all naked 5K runs in the U.S. and around the world.
I have done five or six of them and find them to be most enjoyable. Just be sure to wear sunglasses so you can check out the passing scenery!

    Personally,
the water and wind caress every area without barrriers
the sun bronzes evenly the whole surface
    the total relaxation from stress

I have no problem with the nudity, if that's you're thing, but a nude 5K run? Wouldn't that... hurt after a K or 2?

I don't claim to be hung like a horse, but even I see the need for support.

One becomes a nudist when one takes off ones clothes, all of them.

That's exactly what I was thinking. It only took a couple runs, very early on, for me to understand the need for -something-.

If you prefer being nude to clothed and make that happen as often as possible - you could consider yourself a nudist.

Extra points if you make an effort to be nude with other people in social, non-sexual settings.

When you start socializing with others naked, in non-sexual settings, as strapguy stated. To make it "official" you can join a naturist club, some of which are for gay men only.

I've belonged to a couple, one in Washington State that mostly did summer camping, and another in Minnesota. And no jokes about the cold, in the winter we did indoor activities, from bar nights, gym visits, bowling (in places temporarily closed to the public) to movie nights, dinners and cocktail parties in private homes.

I enjoyed it, though I haven't felt a need to join a club here in Florida, with a nearby legal nude beach, nude swimming in private home pools, and clothing optional gay guest houses we visit.

Here we are "canuding" on a Minnesota river:

A backyard BBQ south of Minneapolis. I think I attended this one, reclining off-camera to the right. (These 2 pics are from the club's website)

That's what I was thinking... The site has pics of women with some pretty hefty boobs. Seems like the shearing force of a run with those pendulums on the chest would start to hurt after not too long.

I don't think that's fair. If you enjoy it and feel it's the best way to be, then yeah I guess you are a nudist, but not just doing it once. Just like, if you prefer men and want to have sex with them, you're gay.

This is my humorous idea of how one becomes a nudist:

    -Can't afford clothes
-Too fat to fit into any
-Very self confident of your body and need to expose it to everyone
    -Living in a gay sauna
-You turn into the incredible hulk
-You're allergic to any type of fabric/leather known to man

    .....Anyone care to add more?

I take part in some naked activities here in Palm Springs area, hiking, pool parties, etc. I enjoy being naked with others, around the pool etc, however seldmon naked alone or with partner just in the house. So I don't know if I am a nudist or not. Love being naked with a group of men though.

I can't be a nudist, I burn too easily and just wouldn't want to deal with all the sunblock.

I've been to Palm Springs twice while on business trips to LA, and have gone hiking naked with the guys there. A great way to experience nature and have some purely social camaraderie.

The naked hikes are quite fun, usually a good group of guys who enjoy hiking and being naked. I go as often as I can.

You beomce a nudist the day you are comfortable enough wiht your own body that you prefer to show it off fully than wear clothes, whether you are at home alone or among others. I hate wearing clothes and wear as little as possible. I am comfortable with my body and proiud of how it looks. And that is a rare trait among Americans today.
