I'm headed up to NYC this weekend to see some of my best friends from college. We were tossing back and forth some ideas about what we want to do....

...and suggestions from you boys?

either nightlife related or cultural!

I suggest you take me.

Otherwise, I suggest Phoenix (447 E 13th St.).

Great bar, cool jukebox, non-pretentious guys.

I always have a good time at G Lounge and Therapy (and I'm not really a bar/club type person). Then again, I'm usually going with 4-5 of my friends from the city, so it's more about just hanging with them and catching up. I doubt I'd go to either place on my own.

There are so many cultural things to do in NYC. It all depends on what you like. Art, history, nature, broadway, gallery openings, shopping, eating, etc... I always try to catch at least one show and hit up one museum when I'm there now.

I'm heading up next weekend, but unfortunately my time is all booked already. So, no shows or museums this trip.

i would suggest the rock observation deck (at the rockefeller center) and yeah it ain't higher than the empire state building but its observatory is way better

for gay action i would suggest the g-lounge on 19th between 7th and 8th if you're into chelsea trash (no offense to chelsea folks here) and the gym bar which is nearby on 18th and 8th but if you want someplace less crowded try nowhere on 14th street between 1st and 2nd (on the east side) (both g-lounge and the gym bar can get busy). i kinda like nowhere however i usually find myself there on weekdays and its nice and dead but there're like tons of gay bars all over nyc...

in no particular order:

1. get a cannoli at Rocco's in the Village... they are the best on the planet

2. go to the American Muesum of Natural History.. a must for any trip to NYC

3. see an off-Broadway production.... cheaper and more fun, sometimes than Bway

4. get the frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity's (East 72nd and 1 Ave, I think)

5. go to a Mets/Yankees game (which ever your preference is)

6. boywatch at Sheep Meadow in Central Park... bring a frisbee too!

7. if you are going to go clubbing, I recommend the Roxy

8. find the Naked Cowboy in Times Square, and get a picture with him

9. eat dinner (Indian food) at the Gandhi Cafe on Bleeker and 7 Ave South...

10. visit Ground Zero... important to do this (Cortlandt St. Sta. on the R train)

just a few suggestions... I am sure I will think of more. Just making this list really makes me homesick for New York sometimes....

Have a lot of fun danielryan!

There's actually group trying to revive the Roxy. Towleroad had a story about them a couple of weeks ago.

thanks boys!

i've been to most of the places suggested, just seeing if anything special is going on.

My friend actually lives right around the corner from Therapy and I personally love Ritz, so I'm sure we will def be hitting up those places!

I forgot about Top of The Rock. I've been meaning to do that for some time now. I'll have to check it out next weekend.

That's funny the friend I'm going to visit lives right around the block from Therapy too. Popular gayborhood I guess.

Take a day trip to Fire Island Pines and lay on the beach. It's going to be a hot, hot weekend and it's gonna be perfect beach weather.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art has some good exhibits right now.

The Ritz is getting very overcrowded. I heard Sugarland in Brooklyn/Williamsburg is really fun on Saturday nights. You can also check out Metropolitan in Brooklyn.

There's a free water taxi to the IKEA in Brooklyn you can catch at the South Street Seaport - Pier 11. If you take it at night, you can see the waterfalls and it's a nice little ride (and cheaper than the boat tours!). You can read more about the waterfalls here: http://www.nycwaterfalls.org/.

Have fun in nyc. Seems guys listed most stuff. Of course tou can pick up the Village Voice free on almost any corner and it's all in there. I should get to Therapy eventually. It's right near me!
