What are they like? I keep seeing them being advertised and was wondering whether they are fun.

Oh, yeah! Have been on three, redheadguy. And fun doesn't even begin to sum it all up. Not only is it a great way to relax (a cruise, that is) but the fact that you are with so many other gay/lesbian folk--it's really like nothing else I have experienced. You are just in this great environment 24/7 having a great time with great people. Crew members on the first one I was on said they loved working on gay cruises because we weren't hung up on status, weren't demanding, were a lot of fun (great dances and parties), were very friendly, etc. They almost dread having to return to regular duty cruises after that.

my buds and i did the Atlantis Alaska cruise last year and had a great time (mostly due to the scenery and the older/mellow aspect of the crowd--that is, no speedo pool parties everyday!)

for an idea of what to see up there, check our pics and movies here:

we were really impressed with Atlantis and the crew of the ship!

I went on my first one last year, the Atlantis Mexican Riviera cruise, 8 days of fun and bliss.
The ship is amazing, and there really is something for everyone. From drag queens doing bingo, casinos, shows (we had Jen Hudson right before she blew up in Dreamgirls),
to dancing all night on deck and lots of hot men of all ages having a good, friendly, attitude-free time. One of the best vacations I have ever taken, and I have taken a lot of them. I am hoping to go on another very soon. And I have no issues paying premium to be with JUST gay men, (and maybe 30 lesbians). No screaming kids, no strange looks. Be with your own kind, kiss your man anywhere. I wouldn't change a thing. The staff onboard is friendly and they love working the cruise, most
will tell you its their favorite and they all volunteer to work it. There is an MSN group for Atlantis if your interested.

As with everything else, it depends on what you consider fun and what you are into.

Personally, the thought of being segregated with and sealed onto a ship full of gay guys for several days sounds about as much fun as a root canal. But to each his own.

I've been on 3 so far
....just got back from A Baltic Sea cruise where we went from Copenhagen Denmark to Stockholm Sweden
and we hit Berlin, St Petersburg Russia and Helsinki Finland along the way

    ...I did Alaska last year
and The Mediterranean the year before

for me cruises are the best way to see as much as possible in a short period of time
and a gay cruise would always be the only way I'd go

Hi i have been on 65 cruises some 20 of them were gay and had best time of my life. Atlantis is the best cruise, people are younger and lay back. You can sun tan nude in front of ship.No dress code,go to in shorts at all meals. And price are better with this company. have a great cruise if you go one. I do not know anything about staying at a resort for the week that they offer,in November. If you need anything give me a call at 760-288-7545 or email to Tom3223@msn.com have a great and great sex on the ship when on the water out at sea.

We did an Atlantis cruise last year (Barcelona-Athens) and loved it. The crew make everybody feel welcome. As a single you will be fine. You'll meet people withing minutes after boarding.

I just sort of assumed these were floating bathhouses where guys had sex with everybody else on the boat in the space of a week. Is that just my misconception?

I've been on about 5 or 6 Atlantis cruises. I've lost count. They're a lot of fun and to all the naysayers I say don't knock it until you try it.

There's most definitely something for everyone. If you're looking for a bathhouse on the ocean, it's definitely that. But if you're looking for just a relaxing vacation by the pool, meals with friends, meeting new people, it's that too. There's definitely a Circuit Party On Water vibe to them, but you can also skip all that. The ships are really big.

The crowd is also really diverse. Couples. Singles. Guys in great shape. Guys not in great shape.

Hmm... my idea of a nice cruise is about six people chartering a boat, loading up some groceries and the dive gear, and heading out where they want.

I have never been on a gay cruise before but I have read a great article about this at http://www.marksmaritime.blogspot.com/. It told me certain information about what they were like and what to expect on one.
