I keep getting the gay vibe from this kid. He is incredibly talented and has been making music for his whole life. I just wonder if the influences he has grown up with and the media would ever accept if he were gay and allow him to come out.

...and in the improbable case that he isn't gay, I still think he is very talented.

Not quite sure how to explain it. There are very minute idiosyncrasies in the way he communicates and his mannerisms. These are similar to a gay friend of mine. I know that does not make a person gay by any means, but I am always waiting for the next popular gay country singer to come out, and I would have the most hope for him if were.

Who says he's even in the closet? He seems to be out, proud, and a bit flamboyant at that.
For him to say he's straight would be a total shock.

A country singer/songwriter who apparently has been making/playing music since he was very young.

Let the young enjoy their youth. Mine was shattered and I'm still paying for it.

But like I said, Idk... Idc about him. It's the shameful world guys like this create for the rest of the up and coming gays and those in the working world that really bothers me. Fcuk him, please.

What's awesome is he wrote that song too. "Wanted" I think is also a wonderful song.

It's just that he sings songs about loving women and such, and in an interview he says that songwriting is what he does to express those things he can't really talk about with other people. It makes me wonder if there are unpublished songs that he has wrote about being gay...if he actually is.

I have a very personal reason for hating country (and I don't use the word 'hate' lightly). It's the only music I've ever listened to that makes me want to drink copious amounts of beer and run my truck into a tree on purpose (which I almost did, but missed the tree).

    Edit for PS.
This is still mostly hypothesis, but the hypothesis is shared by many and studies are being done:

I wouldn't mistake nor blame music for problems and depression that is happening in my own mind. Some country music does express hurt and sadness in some songs, but no more than any other types of music. And the way that the person interprets the songs is nothing but their own fault. I can listen to a sad song and completely relate to it, but I don't get more depressed by listening to such songs because I am happy with my life and who I am. Depression is the cause of wanting to drink and think about suicide, not music.

Well I am from the south - where country music is a way of life. - I loathe it. I tell people I am allergic to country music and break out in hives when it is playing....

Oh and in regards to the OP - I'm pretty sure this kid hasn't even hit puberty yet. Should we really be speculating about the orientation of children? My goal is to stay out of prison - so Pass.

He is 20. Not quite jail bait. Plus I came out when I was 16. Just because we am discussing a person's sexual orientation does not mean we are discussing pursuing him for sex.

Yes we are. Nobody makes threads wondering if Steve Buscemi or Simon Helberg are gay.

Forget that I would pursue him in a heartbeat. I'll drive all the way to Nashville.

This sort of thing I really find unfair. Maybe he isn't gay. Why can't the talented young guy just be whoever he is without wishful thinking gay dudes expecting that he "come out". The kid does have some nice guns though icon_wink.gif

Yeah but both of you are younger than my nephew, whom I helped raise...and still help with that task.

To pursue someone younger than my nephew (he's 22 and hot with abs and stuff btw) would seem weird. But to do someone his age or younger who pursued me first would be totally acceptable, since I'd totally do him if he begged hard enough (brother and myself both adopted from different paternal families...no 'blood' relation felt toward nephew and he knows I think he's hot). icon_lol.gif
