Almost three years on this site, and I never have.

    Have you?

If so, how did it affect you, if at all?

If not, what does it take? Is it just random?

I seem to remember an agreement you check or uncheck on signing up on RJ. Whether they can feature you as man of the day or use your likeness in advertisements and stuff, I think?

I ticked off NO. I'm closeted. icon_redface.gif Otherwise, yup I think it's pretty random. But has to be guys who are verified, have a lot on their profile, and have posted in the forums.

There were MOTD who aren't verified at all. I'll remember them if I see their profiles again...and OUT them! LOLLLLLLL

No, and that is not a problem. Single guys who are looking for a bf or a close friend should be given preference, not an aging queer in a 10 1/2 relationship.

Same story with this swimmer I hotlisted before I left --but he was a 'real jock' athlete with a purpose. Hopefully I see him again. So it's quite justified. He had a pic of him and his best friend with rollerskates on!

I've been Man of the Solar System once, but the system in question was the Alpha Centauri, and it did me no good at all.

I'm not into slimy aliens with antennae.

Very tolerant, aren't you? How do you keep from being claustrophobic in that narrow mind of yours?

I agree. MOTD is meant to showcase the wide variety of respectable men on the site, and I can see why someone much less tolerant hasn't been chosen. I think showcasing men in relationships shows that this site isn't just about shacking up their members . . plus it shows that the people on this site can meet other men and last long with them!

I was MOTD once and it was fun to send to friends and show them. I got a number of emails from members but after that there wasn't much else to it . . I was hoping for some sort of parade or awards ceremony but I guess the budget had been cut short . .

And now, since I can never again be MOTD, I have fallen into the deepest of depressions . . oh dear me . .

Yes, and it was totally random and by sheer chance that I got picked (at least I guess it was).

I signed on that day and was like look at that how embarrassing lol. The only thing it really did was get me more exposure and I met and talked to some really cool guys...but alas after 24 hours I was done and the fame moved on to someone who I am sure was much more deserving. icon_wink.gif

    EH!?

If you had bothered checking his profile you wouldn't say that. Although I disagree with the 'aging queer' thing, heh icon_wink.gif, he was talking about himself. icon_rolleyes.gif

SurrealLife aka JBE60 is partnered in a 10 1/2 year relationship.

Seriously... you guys need a sense of humor sometimes, he was being sarcastic icon_rolleyes.gif

Yes, I was about a week ago. I felt very flattered, especially because my profile has few, if any, pictures of me shirtless/showingoffmyabs/ass/arms. And I've never had so many photos of cock unlocked in my life!

I haven't been MOTD as far as I know. I wonder if there some preference toward newer profiles to give them some extra exposure. But that's just a theory. Anyway, no big deal.

How is that "Man of the Day" thing determined? I was thinking it was contingent on how many hits you got to your profile; anyone else no more about this?

Justin, Jeff, Jess...or whatever your name is, get out here. We need these questions answered, please.

Yes I have been a Real Jock Man of the Day.

It was about 8 months ago and I remember thinking that they must not of looked at my age.....

    But I was flattered.

And now my 15 minutes of fame is up.

I guess the best I can hope for is being invited into the VH1 Surreal Life House for former Real Jock Men of the Day.

I was once, but that was when the site was still pretty new and I'm pretty sure they were hard up on candidates.

I was, just a few days after I joined. Totally random as far as I could tell - I certainly didn't solicit it. And while I guess it would be nice for those who are on a serious manhunt to get preference (yeah, I'm one of those horrible guys in here in a serious longterm monogamous relationship), there are plenty of sites online for that purpose exclusively. I just think this is a great place to encounter like-minded guys to chat with, make friends, and hopefully actually get to meet socially sometime.

I was once. I think it was about a year ago. The main effect was that a whole ton more people looked at my profile than normal. It also felt kind of good to be picked, even though I assumed that it was random.
