So in the past week I saw a nutritionist because I want to get down to 5% BF and also through my work it was free so why the hell not! They put me on 4000+ Calories a day of mostly protein but balanced healthy meals. In one week I dropped from 8.9% body fat to 7.3%. Making it an official 20% body fat I have lost since May 2010. I knew diet was a huge portion of things and being a personal trainer have marginal understanding of nutrition but I didn't think I could eat this much.

I needed somewhere to shout my success but I am in disbelief that this has become my life..starting at 300 lbs and 32% body fat when I was 16

Wow. And you lost body fat???

May I ask what your workout routine is like?

    That's incredible.

I just really increased my protein to about 300 grams, but I am finding this so hard to do right now.

    Thanks for posting.

A "nutritionist" put you on a diet of mostly protein? What were this "nutritionist's" credentials?

I was thinking the same thing. If 2000 of the 4000 calories are from protein that's 500 grams of protein a day. That's overkill.

Congratulations on your amazing achievement! From 32% to 5%, that's not for anyone!

5% takes some planning even for natural ectos like me. I almost never like to be in this low range because it's a bit unstable (I catabolise more often when I'm this low) and aesthetically it doesn't make much of a difference for tall guys like us to go below 7%... I think 7% is defined enough

Are you losing your bf percentage because of a decrease in body fat, increase in muscle mass or both?
