i was disappointed! the visuals and effects and creatures were stunning, however, i found the movie had pockets of, "oh c'mon, this is just cheeseball"

i don't read the comic book version of HellBoy, so, i wonder if this is the general tone of the book?

thoughts?

Wow they really made a sequal to Hellboy?

Blimey.

It's supposed to be a bit cheeseball...much like Dick Tracy or other similar story. The effects were fantastic!

It's a movie about a demon from hell that gets raised by a kind old scientist and recruited to fight other demons. He's red in color and his girlfriend is a firestarter. yeah, I can't imagine how a movie like this could be cheesy.

LOL, did you see part 1. I needed wine and crackers to watch that thing. However, cheesy can be fun. Did you see Tank Girl , and she didn't even get a sequal, damn unfair.

I thought it was fun, funny, not overly predictable, and visually stunning. Ideal for a mindless summer entertainment. I'd say that I liked it as much as the first one. I did miss David Hyde Pierce's voice as Abe at first but I got past it quickly.

I liked Wall-E better.

I agree. I missed David Hyde Pierce and I feel he had a much better voice then the new person.

On a scale form 0-10 I'd give a 7.

I'm surprised you guys didn't like it. I thought it was plenty entertaining. Ron Perlman as Hellboy continues to be an endearing action hero, and Jeffrey Tambor is hilarious as his boss. The films have a great sense of humor, and this one had some terrific and original creature designs.

Best part of this film: it's done, so del Toro can now focus on the Hobbit.
