So I just did some shopping "research", and am discovering an unsettling disparity. On Wikipedia, the average gay man's circumference is 4.9". The toys sold as "realistic" have a typical circumference of 6", and I only found two at 5.5".

I don't know about other people's preferences, but 12-22% over is too much. Since I'm not interested in settling for a smaller but less realistic looking toy, there's not much at all on the market that fits my interests.

Aren't realistic dildos usually modeled after porn stars who in fact usually have larger dicks than the average gay man?

And even if they weren't modeled after them, don't you think they would model the dildos after guys who had an above average dong?

That's true and I think it leads to debates about body image just like the portrayal of women in media. I am in favor of consumer choice, not marketing hegemony. Second, maybe it's an American thing, i.e. having a size complex about basically every object that has a price attached to it. And third, I've seen it said here and there that dildos actually have a very substantial female market base, and their anatomical differences create a commercial incentive for larger toys. One shopping site actually warns you to avoid the pitfall of "buying with your eyes".

I just want something I can physically play with, yet admire visually. It's so unfair.

Get this. Trust. It's firm enough to get into your ass, but flexible to really work your ass without the feeling of being probed. It has a small but defined head for an easy entry. At it's thickest is 5inches around. from the balls to the tip it is 5 1/2inches, from the the topside to the tip is 6inches. Serious dude, this is what you are looking for. icon_wink.gif

TheGuyNextDoor saidIn my experience with toys, I find that the average realistic porn cock is 6" around.
They feel pretty great and yes, fatter than the average man.
The worst though is the Falcon Toys which are 8" around with a 7" head on them. The problem there is the head is so big that about 5-6" in you they go THUD and can't go any further where a 6" cock that's 8 or more inches can easily slide further in you since the head is more in proportion.
Shop wisely before you plunk down the big bucks on something that's not going to fit very far.

WHAT??? You mean realistic didoes are NOT 11" in circumference at the base and NOT 11" long???

Yes, but sometimes it hits the right spot. The Dean Flynn is great though.

"Realistic" = "painted to look like a real cock" + "made with materials that feel like skin"

It has nothing to do with the size.

As fun as these seem, they are not the best choice for anal play because the material they're made from is porous, so you will need to take more care in sanitizing them or they will start to smell like where they've been.

That's a generalization, but I haven't seen one that was made of a non-porous material. A search at eden fantasys would give you the answer.
