    Hello everyone,

I am in need of some help. I will be in London this summer for two months interning in Soho and am in need of a room/flat/apartment at-least within a 15 mile radius from Soho. Does anyone have any suggestion as to where I should look for economic prices? I am willing to share a place as long as the person is normal, and sane. If you know anyone, or have any suggestions as to where I should look I would really appreciate it.

    Thank youicon_smile.gif

Like Timbales said, though 15 miles is way too far, it will take an age to commute and be costly.

People such as http://www.smsstudent.co.uk/index.asp who manage halls of residence for the various universities, do usually let them out over the summer holiday period. However, because London is very much the place to be this summer; with Her Majesty the Queen celebrating her diamond jubilee, as well as the small matter of London hosting the Olympic and Paralympic games, it's going to be busy.

So if there are any places left, enquire now.

    (1) stop thinking in miles. It doesn´t work like that in London. Think tube or bus routes. What you are probably looking for is zone 2 or 3 on a good line into soho.

    (2) You might be able to sublet a room in a flat while a housemate is away. I´d look on http://www.gumtree.com/london or http://www.gumtree.com/flats-and-houses-for-rent/london

    (3) You need to be realistic about $$$. London is absurdly expensive, the short term rent market is unreal. If you want to private message me I can maybe help more (if i know where in soho then I can make concrete suggestions about areas you could look in)

If you are going to be there for 2 months I´d look for something a little more permanent. Also, would that be in a dorm with 10 others? In that location I suspect it would. (expensive). But Victoria line is great for soho. I´d just go out of zone 1.

DO NOT stay at the gay hostel. i stay there 3 years ago, my own room for 2 nights , it may be cheap , but it was the worst expeirence in 3 trips to london. the doom was shared male n female, the guests were nice but the facilities were not . the single room squeezed a single bed. and the suitcase had to stand upright,.# u cud not swing a cat in it!
