He probably got pissed when someone made a negative remark about his tank top.

I can't keep track.... is there a consensus? Are we calling them "tank tops", "bro tops", "frat tops", "square tops", or aprons?

Sad day ... the "content of their character" vision of MLK gets a little more distant.

Interestingly, the guy's character doesn't seem to be too stellar per the article. Seems like he was an asshole who was lying down with dogs who bit him...

Typically that is true of many in that particular profession.

Oh, I can imagine. Freepers prefer their gays to be like themselves...closeted, self-hating and keep their sexual activities to groping in public restrooms.

Just went and looked. Sadly, not that different than some of the type of comments seen in "News & Politics" and "Gay News & Events" here on RJ.

I wish he would have stuck it out. Romney hired him because he was qualified for the job. By quitting, he let the other side win.

His presence in Romney's campaign causes major problems from the Rep. right.

Are you kidding me with this dick?!? It's a Gay republican!!! That alone is revolting enough, but this douchebag worked for "w" icon_eek.gificon_mad.gif
Who cares if it resigned or was fired? icon_rolleyes.gif
It should join this site and align itself with the other self loathing Gay republican assholes that Realjock has. Plus it can also join in the Who's Who of Gay Republican Douche Bags Club they have going here.

I mean it's so repulsive to me that there are Gay republicans period. But to actually work with/for the party who, if they could get away with it, would line us up in front of a ditch and shoot us in the back is depraved icon_exclaim.gif
(And all the while they would have their token christians stand there and pray for us of course, giving them that special devine right)

Tristan, it actually IS helpful to have some Gay republicans. I agree that progressive groups and left-of-center politicians (overwhelmingly Democrat) have been the strongest advocates for the BGLTQ community in recent decades, and I don't think that's going to change anytime soon. However, we can't simply rely on progress during periods of liberal power and non-stop regression during years when conservatives are in control. This is a problem that has stymied other movements (minority rights, environmental protection, etc.), but that we could overcome in the gay rights struggle.

Uber-conservative figures like Paul Singer were critical for getting gay marriage passed in "blue" New York State, and we will need to pair with "strange" bedfellows from the GOP if we are ever going to get marriage equality passed in purple or red states. Furthermore, there are some gays who happen to think that their sexual minority status is not the main motivation for their voting decisions (case in point, the members of GOProud).

Several of the links say that senior Romney aides repeatedly asked him to stay, but he left nevertheless. This seems to be the definition of "quit."

It's called "spin", and if you're a seasoned political junkie you don't buy it just because someone from the campaign puts it out there.

Were you there? I read all the links. Lots of speculation, rumors, and as you rightly say, spin. But there is too much certitude, rush to assume--and frankly a bit of self-indulgent victimhood--in this thread for my taste.
I'm not trying to start an argument with anyone, but it seems that people here are pretty riled up about a bunch of unsourced comments.
