Has anyone else been hearing about this??

    http://www.fda.gov/NewsEvents/Newsroom/PressAnnouncements/ucm302133.htm

WTF that means since they are made in the US that we can't get them here in Australia either.

Seriously the FDA are a bunch of hypocrites...42 complaints or deaths over the years from these products and I bet most or all are due to MISUSE of the product and people being so out of shape and failing to consult a doctor before hand. There are warnings on these products saying NOT to exceed the dose and start light. They also ignore the fact that it says drink a certain amount of water...how many hundreds of thousands die or end up with complications due to smoking and all the chemicals that are known to kill that are put into them?? Screw the FDA!! I just bought 10 bottles of Jack3D and some Craze. I won't be sad to miss Lipo-6 never used it cuz it's shit anyway...please say I won't be stuck with only NO X-Plode that stuff is horrible and does not agree with my digestive system if you know what I mean...

The FDA is a corrupt piece of shit. I don't think it should be banned, however that being said, it really did make my heart race in a way I didn't like, but I've always been hypersensitive to drugs and stimulants. I can definitely see where it could fuck you up if you had a heart condition or something.

See people who are smart like you realise that if their body isn't agreeing with a product they stop using it, I did that with NO X-Plode. Jack3D even lists out a bunch of conditions that they say do not use this product if you have one of the listed.

This really effects the overwhelming majority of people who use the product in a reasonable way. I take 3 scoops but I have adjusted to that and on certain days I use only 2. If I have had a caffeinated drink within a couple hours of using it I take less than 3 scoops.

I was wondering why supplementwarehouse.com had it on its discontinued list, along with Lipo-6. I used J3D and liked it. Wasn't my favorite, but I felt it worked. At first I was a bit loopy with it, but I got used to it. Lipo-6 worked really well for me at one point and I dropped 10 lbs pretty quickly. Never had any ill effects on me, though.

dont understand how the food and drug administration is one entity, they should split the two, though the idea of everything being banned is kinda scary it definitely make me wonder what 10 years of mystery ingredients does to ones body. i don't think they should ban any of it, just test it so at least people know what their getting. it should be up to a person to decide what they wanna do

Yeah, several years ago, my old roommate used to take TWENTY Ephedrine pills a day. I found out later he was self medicating for Attention Deficit Disorder, but after seeing how he abused it, I was certain it would soon be banned and I was right.

Why are you guys surprised? the banning of 1,3-dimethylamylamine was bound to happen. everyone was stocking up on them for the past year before it got banned. there have been health concerns regarding this compound.

I don't see in that press release where these products were banned. The gist of the press release was that the companies producing these products had not done their due diligence in proving the safety of said products before selling them and that the FDA has sent them a strongly-worded letter asking them to do so.

If the product ends up being "banned" it will not be because the FDA banned it: it will be because the companies involved do not want to spend the time and money to test their products and provide the testing results to the FDA in compliance with the law. Which does not seem to me to be the FDA's fault.

I fail to understand the outrage here. I don't see anything wrong with the FDA asking for safety documentation, and I don't believe any random company should be able to throw what they want on shelves without doing their due diligence.

ITT drugees and lab rats attached to their untested "supplements," which of course give results because they have illegal ingredients. Collegiate athletes aren't allowed to take that supplement because 1) it works and 2) it's risky and unhealthy. If you take any central nervous system stimulant, yes, you will get results.

Supplements aren't regulated. You're playing roulette with them--1 in 5 in the US is adulterated...

Of course, you're going to tell me you know more than me because you're jacked. That's because you're on drugs, not because you know more.

It's been banned in Canada since April 2011. I expected the FDA to follow suit.

I either dont' understand enough about chemistry or just can't find a reason why they banned it. There are plenty of substances that don't get vetted through the FDA -- maybe because of its stimulant properties?

Its still nothing like Adderall or other Rx stimulants.

"Banned" is a misleading term. As of right now, a warning (which may very well lead to a ban, but not necessarily) was issued because...

"Before marketing products containing DMAA, manufacturers and distributors have a responsibility under the law to provide evidence of the safety of their products. They haven’t done that and that makes the products adulterated," said Daniel Fabricant, Ph.D., Director of FDA’s Dietary Supplement Program.

Specifically, the warning letters cite the companies for marketing products for which a notification had not been submitted for the use of DMAA as a New Dietary Ingredient (NDI). Under current law, dietary supplement manufacturers or distributors who use certain dietary ingredients not marketed in a dietary supplement prior to October 15, 1994, are responsible for notifying the FDA of evidence to support their conclusion that their dietary supplements containing NDIs are safe. Manufacturers or distributors must submit notification at least 75 days before marketing their products. The companies warned today were marketing products for which this requirement had not been met.

In other words, USP Labs better come up with scientific evidence to demonstrate that DMAA is safe. If not, then Jack3D WILL be banned.

    Meh.

I like Jack3D as a pre-workout solution, but I hate the sucralose content.

I'm sticking with my custom mix of Beta-Alanine, L-Tyrosine, L-Carnitine, Yohimbe, and a dilute cup of black coffee along with BCAAs for my pre-workout mix.

That said, Jack3D was handy for a few nights where I needed to stay up late to ... take care of some unfinished business. ;)

Enjoy throwing your money away on all those gimmicks. The only thing that's doing anything in your preworkout is the diluted cup of coffee. The rest of it? You were marketed to, son.

I'm not sure about the effects of L-Tyrosine and L-Carnitine. But I've read some convincing literature (from University studies) about the effects of BCAAs on training. Yohimbe is a CNS stimulant, and you said it yourself about getting results with CNS stimulants.
