Do You Ever Feel Like The Girl In The Relationship.

I just thought about this, with the posting of the fem topic someone posted.

    It got me thinking.
Even with a masculine couple, one has to be more masculine than the other, even if it is just a little... right?

Or even so, you still may be seen as the "girl"

Now we as gay men know better, and are politically correct, however everyone is not. We all know the whole concept of "girl" and "boy" roles are not fit for everyone.

Has anyone ever come across someone who thought they were the girl, or bitch or fem in the relationship.

We hang on to gender roles and such so hard that seeing two guys together, people almost subconsciously have to say one is more fem.

It is usually the one who is shorter, or smaller or does not have as many muscles.

Has anyone ever come across this?

Or has anyone ever been threatened somewhat by a boyfriend because he seemed more masculine than you? Did it ever make you feel less masculine?

Edit: The whole idea is kinda funny because it does happen now and again. Masculine men say they want a masculine man, but then if he is too masculine it can make some feel less than a man.

    See username.
Would rather be the prison bitch than the prison.. bitch owner? Not that I want to be girly. I don't see the appeal of dressing in girl's clothes. But more of a man in charge + more of a boy/sub/bitch sounds good to me. The difference is hot.

Never been an issue for me.

Whether or not my guy has bigger muscles, a deeper voice, knows more about footbal, or perfers to top, I never feel like the "girl" in a relationship because I'm a guy. The comparison simply doesn't register as relevant to me.

    I'm a man, he's a man. It's the only way we'd have it.

And especially vital for me, because I need a guy who can stand up to me. Even though not my conscious intention, I will suffocate anyone who's not strong enough to match me. That trait made a military career for me, but it makes me a lousy partner unless my guy is as strong-willed as I am.

(Well, I may still make a lousy partner in other ways, but at least in terms of our relative roles I need my man to challenge & confront me, never be passive. I'm best with a guy who offers me resistance, not one who gives in)

There are no girls in a gay guy relationship since they're all guys?

Abandon your preconceptions about gender and relationships. It's not helping.

I don't see this problem as one concerning who acts or behaves more masculine.

With that said, I can feel myself being treated more like a subordinate because of my younger age and most guys only really giving me their attention because of my appearance. icon_confused.gif

girl's are usually shorter, smaller, more feminine than their male counter parts but often in the culture we live in the women run the relationships
so male female roles are complex
    as are male-male roles
do what feels best to you icon_cool.gif

I'm usually the shorter, smaller, quieter one in the relationship, but I've never considered myself the "girl."
