Well you can tell how lopsided the election year is... when in a "Red" state like Kansas, the sitting republican senator up for election, Pat Roberts, is out with an ad characterizing his "democratic opponent"
(there are 2 democrats who haven't even gone through the primarys yet) Jim Slattery (who was a representative on the Kansas side of the Kansas City area for a number of terms, ending in the republican landslide in 1994) as a
"Washington lobbyist" and chastizing his supposid earnings (which has been stated as misleading by a local Wichita TV station).

Sadly, Kansas hasn't actually elected a democratic senator since the 1930's and Slattery cut Roberts lead in half (under 10 points) even though the primary hasn't happened yet.

I'm sick of the Roberts ads and I hope Slattery (if he wins the primary) can move quickly with advertising.
    His fundraising is going well.......

I've been noticing a lot of articles about Senate/congressional republicans whose normal lead in their areas are being cut to almost even, or in several cases falling well behind their Democratic competition. Over all I think the public even a large share of republicans are fed up with the status quo, and the state that bush has our country in. I sure hope your man Slattery gets voted in. The National republican party is worried this go around, and I (several months ago) even read that some of them blame the problems on the bush administration. Oh how I hope we take the white house, get a wider lead in the senate and in the congress. There is so much work to be done to repair the damage done by the bush administration. Good luck out there in Kansas !!!

In Ohio I think we only have one elected republican left in our state house, Jennifer Brunner. Our previous republican administration was pplagued with corruption, scandal & deceit. Coupled with the Bush administration, a republicanin Ohio is something to be embarassed by these days.Although we were recently embaraased by one of our elected democrats with a sexual harassment scandal and his appointing a friend who has had some accidents while driving state vehicles, probably while intoxicated. he apparently has a past.
