Has anyone taken oxycodone/oxycotin?

I am taking oxycotin for the first time. Great for killing pain. But it seems to be an oxymoron.

I sense a large increase in taste sensitivity. Chocolate blows my socks off more than ever.

And my dick is super sensitive. =)

Anyone else have "side effects" with this drug?

Caused constipation for me the one or two times I had to take it.

I've taken it before for back pain but I forced myself to get off it as I was becoming tolerant to it.

I didn't have any side effects but I'll agree it was amazing at eliminating the pain.

My advice to you is to get off it while you can - before you know it, it'll always be your 'go-to'

Hmmmm. I had no issues with it but as suggested above get off of it as quickly as possible.

Be careful with that shit man. I understand that it feels good and helps with the pain but I was using it too, built a tolerance to it and was soon addicted. I couldn't even function with out taking any. When my prescription was done I was so sick and hurt. I started buying it off the streets then it became too expensive. Started using heroin cause it was cheaper. Ruined my life!. I gave up everything for it. Family, friends, my life. It took complete control of me. Was a totally different person. Started stealing and doing criminal things. Was no good at all. Took me losing everything, living on the streets, locked up 3 times and a year of rehab to realize how it ruined my life.

I got a prescription for it after my surgery and was popping eight a day...probably for three plus weeks. I don't recall any side effects, but it did help the pain. I was also very fortunate that I had no addiction problem to it. Be sure to take it before you go in for your physical therapy.

So I am hoping that will help.

Now if it keep my dick as senaitive as a 17 yo that may be harder (no pun intended) to resist.

I am 2 weeks out from a spinal fusion - took it for 4 days, and didn't tolerate it well. It was easier to deal with any pain without it than deal with the side-effects.

It's a great treatment for when you need it. I took it for back pain as well as a result of an injury in a car racing accident a few years back. However, once you feel you don't need it or can switch to aspirin or advil, do so. It's very addicting and if you've been taking it too long, the day you stop you'll feel antsy and uncomfortable and want to take it again.

When it comes to side effects, other than feeling great when I took it, I had no negative side effects with it. Feel better!

I think you need to take a little bit less and see if its effective. You need to be treating pain, not getting high.

I know you don't think it, but its an invisible line between control and out of control with opiates.

Oh dear. I don't know if I want to marry an addict. I've been through the friend-of-an-addict experience and don't want to do it again.

Be honest with your doctor about everything, take it only when needed, or try to take something less strong if possible. Share your usage schedule with someone else so that you're held accountable for sticking to the doc's orders.

Also, use your penis more. Does it seriously get less sensitive with age?icon_eek.gif

A similar thing happened to my brother. He had shoulder surgery around 8 years ago and never stopped taking OC. It led to heroin.

Eventually, he started stealing from the family business (over $500K before he was caught). He then faked cancer, ran off to CA for "experimental treatment", ended up flying back to OH while his wife and three boys were away for a weekend and emptied their house of everything, and I do mean everything.

He has disappeared, though we heard he's living in a homeless shelter somewhere around Huntington Beach, CA.

He went from having it all to having nothing ... left his three boys for me to help raise, which I'm not all that happy about, by the way. I love those boys, but I always thought that being gay meant I'd never have to deal with kids.

    Oh well.

I took it while recovering from surgery and only when the pain was absolutely unbearable. It made me more lethargic and there would be times when I'd feel like I was just running on autopilot.

A good Dr. should ask if you have an addictive personality. Ie; Alcoholism in the family etc. I think you'll be fine Cas. You don't strike me as the type. I had a co-worker tell me a horrible story of her daughter's husband. He had a badly broken ankle went on Oxy. He was a smoker, drinker and used what she called recreational drungs when he was in high school, but not as an adult. He became addicted to this drug. He was taking it orally and also smoking it, yeah you can smoke a pill. Her daughter knew there was a huge problem when she found aluminum foil squares around the house with black lines on it. He was taking the pill shaving it in pieces and putting a lighter underneath and using a bic pen with the ink taken out as a tube and smoking it. He was 28 when he broke his ankle and he was dead by 33. Very sad.

Currently addicts take trips to Dade County Florida called pill runs. In Florida they don't keep track of how many times pain meds are filled so addicts run from pain clinic to pain clinic with a presription then fill it. Then they go to another pain management clinic with a bogus MRI or x-ray and Dr's down there are willing to write another script and it goes on and on. Sadly old people are selling the rug out of their homes because their Social Security doesn't pay them enough and they can sell these pills for 25 bucks a piece. Many liberals in FL don't feel we should not track refills by their SS#s like we do in other states. We wonder why America is in tough shape.

Fell better Cas. We don't always agree in forums, but be well and don't forget about rehab for that shoulder in weeks to come.

That really really sucks. I hate kids. That's like my personal hell.

They are lucky to have you!! I love kids. They are the future-our future. Yes they are a lot more work/worry than fun, but worth it. Let his children know they need to watch out for the addictive things in life. They are their father's sons and may have his traits. peace

My brother was addicted to it, then moved to heroin. He tried to stab me three times while under the influence. Good times...

Was this a single attempt at a triple stabbing, or three separate attempts to stab you once? I'm interested because science.

I know lots of people who have developed dependency on this stuff--as others have said, be careful.
