I found that men that describe themselves in their profiles or screen names with the above adjectives usually are none of the above! A friend of mine is on every online dating site and found the same. Is it like that all over?? Online dating sounds like slim pickings.icon_neutral.gif

I generally wouldn't even look at someone who used one of those names unless it was an obvious joke. hmmm... Maybe if I changed my name to Pontifex9inches I'll get laid.

Does this rule also apply to people who describe themselves as:
"masculine athletic Italian athletic, into similar types. Gotta be neg dd free. std free!!"

You mean the beard doesn't already do it?

The beard does seem to be what gets me the most a attention. And to be honest if I was 9 inches I'd be scared of myself. Lol. you do see that stuff in profile names all the time and I guess it is either an indication of what the person is looking for or an indication that there is a troll in the rj dungeon

    What's a 'macs' dude .... eats big mac's?
I'm pretty sure that's what he means. After all, a very overweight/obese person would definitely fit the "hot" category if they walk a mile. icon_twisted.gificon_biggrin.gif

Profiles on online dating and other social sites are nothing more than advertising crap--all lies, misrepresentation, and puffery. If truth-in-advertising laws applied to online profiles, 99% of those profiles would be subject to prosecution.

My logic is: A tree doesn't need to tell you it is a tree.. it's just is a tree.. unless it doubts that it is a tree and tells you "i'm a tree" in order to glean confirmation from you. The genuine article just IS whatever it is and goes about being itself and people rave about how attractive or hot, handsome or sexy it is because it is. There's no need to convince others of what it is. This is tactful and although i loathe the refrain "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder".. there's a lot of truth to that. I have a paragraph about this in my profile and it's one of the things i'll see in a profile which will turn me off, because instantly i smell insecure co-mingled with arrogance. Together those opposing forces create a nasty combination. Always problematic.
