We drove from New Jersey to Miami Beach starting Friday morning. What normally is an approximately 19 hour drive turned into a 26 hour nightmare. Thanks Virginia. Virginia is for lovers? Only if they're extremely inbred.

Anyway, we're down in our condo, a block from the beach, on the intercoastal side. Amazing views 16 floors up in a new construction. We first came down this past January, when construction was finally complete.

Lots of beautiful men. Ok, the women are beautiful too, but, who effing cares?!?!

I got a new speedo for the beach. My thigh are a bit red from breaking it in in New Jersey before we left, so, I gotta put the boardshorts back on for a few days.

We'll be ramming around and hitting some of the restaurants and hotel bars but without any real direction. Anyone have any suggestions? We're here for the next two weeks or so.

Okay the skinny on Miami Beach...
as far as gay life goes you really have to hit Sobe (South Beach) that's where most of the so called action is
....first is the 12 Ave beach...which is the gay beach
don't go there until at least noon - no one's there until then
then there's Lincoln rd...where the restaurants are and some clubs (Score and now Halo)where you can drink and dance the night away

...that'll at least get you started

There is a hotel called Avalon on the strip at South Beach with a great little restaurant on the front terrace with the best mojitos. It's a great place to people watch as well.

SoBe is far less gay than it used to be, although it still is of course. Wilton Manors in Broward County is very open and inviting, as is most of Fort Lauderdale in general. Additionally, there are more bars, more restaurants, more shops, the GLCC, and Stonewall library in Broward/Wilton Manors.

    A few recommendations:

    * walking down Lincoln Road during the evening and night-time; it is a pedestrian street with restaurants, shops, and a couple of gay bars

    * brunch or lunch on the Blue Door Terrace at the Delano Hotel (it's pricey, but the food is good and the decor is impeccable art deco): http://www.delano-hotel.com/delano_hotel_blue_door.asp

    * walking down the boardwalk on South Beach during the mid-day, the afternoon, and the evening

    * dropping by the Pleasure Emporium, a classy sex store for that little extra :-) : http://www.pleasureemporium.com/store1.html

Thanks again. Have done some of the stuff mentioned. I could sit down somewhere in the middle of South Beach and just watch for hours and hours as the world goes by. It's a little like NYC here in that respect but with a beach and pound for pound, better bodies.

I'd like to bring our boat down here but it's difficult to impossible to get dockspace near our apartment. I may have to start scanning the obits to miami beach deaths to get a spot.

What would ever inspire anyone to visit this cesspool of rotting infestation of sycophantic egotistical homosexuals and the great elusive bisexual closet-case community (which is vast and detestable) is beyond me. Even with all that, I think she’s still worth a visit. =]

Don't miss the nude beach. Haulover beach i believe is around 160th ave. Just walk to the left for the gay section it will be obvious. Everyone will know where Haulover Beach is. They have vendors on the beach for chix breast and waters, so no need to cart all that with you. Lincoln Ave has great shops and eateries. Like the others have said Miami Beach is not so gay anymore. It's worth the 20 min ride to Ft.Lauderdale. Wilton Manor is the place to go. Have fun and make sure you give us an update.

Lived In maimi like 15 mins away from the beach for 4 yrs. From 97 to 01. Clubbing was so good down there at that time, gays ruled south beach. The Nature is nice, the hurricanes are exciting.

The straights realized what a hot spot it is and are taking over. Rents are skyrocketing and Its totally changed and gotten really ghetto. Like a place to get lost in the crowd to, NYC is definelty the place for me to do that.
