It took almost a month but in a late-night e-mail to supporters Ricky boy finally endorses EtchASketch. You'd have to skip down to the 13th paragraph of the email before you get to the actual endorsement.

What a blow to Willard, even Jeff Foxworthy endorsed him in person!!

By "EtchASketch" are we referring to Romney and his craven homophobia and selfish flip-flopping or are we referring to the President and his craven, constantly "evolving" and rotating views on same-sex marriage?

The only real "blow to Romney", in my opinion, is that Santorum endorsed him at all. Romney may need many things, but Rick Santorum's meaningless endorsement isn't one of them. Now Santorum can just go away --- please!

    Not needed is correct.

Romney has done much to earn his far right credentials all on his own.

Promising to nominate only anti-gay Supreme Court Justices, fighting for a Constitutional Amendment to ban same-sex marriage in all 50 states, establishing a presidential commission to investigate complaints from ant-gay activists, etc. That's enough to make even the filthiest homophobe happy.

None of the above really concern me all that much...

Nominate only anti-gay Supreme Court Justices
I'll believe it when I see it. Regardless, he can try nominating them, but that doesn't mean they will be confirmed.

Fighting for a Constitutional Amendment to ban same-sex marriage in all 50 states
Again, he can try, but I will believe that when I see it too. Regardless, good luck getting that passed -- I don't think that will ever happen. Americans are becoming more open-minded all the time.

Establishing a presidential commission to investigate complaints from ant-gay activists
This is probably not going to happen either, however I do agree that attacks on religious people and "anti-christian" bullying and harassment is no better than the anti-gay equivalent.

You know, I could be snarky here....and ask if you'd still support Romney, if he signed a pledge promising to roll back the 14th amendment. I mean, that wouldn't get that passed either.

For me, these pledges speak to Romney's character. The only way Republicans are going to give up their anti-gay pandering, is for them to lose more elections.

Don't get me started on the 14th Amendment. I think it's become outdated and needs to be revised so that we end this practice of anchor babies. You should be a citizen of the country your parents are a citizen of.

As for Romney being "anti-gay", I just don't look at him that way, pledge to protect marriage or not. I don't prescribe to the mentality that someone is automatically "anti-gay" just because someone believes that "marriage" should be defined as the union of a man and a woman. The term "anti-gay" is becoming almost more overused than "racist".

Semantics and Romney's unknowable personal feelings aside, we know he panders to groups organized for the sole purpose of denying equal rights to gays.

As long as these people get elected, they will continue to pander to these hate groups.

Like my 81 year old father says, Most Republicans, particularly the Christian Fundi types, would vote republican and justify them if they'd been fooled into voting for the devil himself.

The Republican CJ's of the US are just happy and comfortable in their status quo and will not be 'shaken' out of their blind comfort level by such things as facts. After all, to them we who are exposing them to facts that bring them discomfort from their lofty comfort zones are just wanting to ruin things, or conspiracy theorists of one kind or another, All I can do is just shake my head at such willfull and self inflicted blindness.

For Romney, getting an endorsement from Santorum is about as welcome as getting a dose of the clap.

And don't forget the fear and anger.

Republicans friends have showed me some of the most shrill and ridiculous right wing fundraising letters. They're always predicting some horrible disaster....Socialists knocking down their front door, taking their guns, kids, bibles, cars and money. Secret liberal plans to control or give away everything they have. Militant Homosexuals taking over the children and indoctrinating them into a deathstyle life of debauchery.

As I said, kinda shrill considering Obama doesn't have the votes to even turn back DOMA.

No one said there aren't loony extremes out there (on BOTH sides).

Yes here we go with the all encompassing excuse >>> MEH !!! both sides do it !!! so nothing here to discuss !!! all is well with the status quo !! don't rock the boat !!! We're all so very comfortable doing whatever it takes to win and all is fair so don't shake things up.

Don't you ever get tired of espousing all this anger that is not going to change the reality that Obama will either be re-elected, or Romney will get elected. Both have plusses and minuses, neither is perfect. It is what it is, and like it or not that is reality. All the boat rocking isn't going to change that.
