You read it correct, my mom thinks i'm fat. She is literally the only person who thinks I am and only because i've been eating everything in the fridge (which I pay to eat) because i'm trying to bulk up at the gym(Which has been very successful so far). I keep telling her I know what i'm doing and just because I have a small belly (it's nothing, really) I get called fat. It's like parents just don't accept dramatic changes that you do to your body. Has your parents or anyone concerned over your changes because of your bulking?

Well, I am much older and I get the opposite. My mother believes I should fire my personal trainer and quit the gym. They do not like this new me. I still have a bit of weight to lose. Last time my mother saw me she said, "When is enough going to be enough?"

You have to do what's best for you.

Oh and you do look great.

Parents do that. Mine did the same when I lost weight. It's hard for a parent to see their child change. Freaks them out.

You do look a little fat, but you're not obese. It's just the bulk fat you get from bulking at the gym. Same thing happens to me bud. You just gotta reduce your calories by a small amount.

Never knew mine... was raised by grandparents. Their angle was that I was never going to gain any weight, and should eat more to see if it'd make a difference. Turned me into an eating machine. I learned to rationalize and moderate my eating habits to some healthier levels, but every time I see food and taste it; it's like the first time ever trying it. Wish I could undo the garbled mess they made of my mind; but the best I can do is acknowledge it, push it away, rationalize it for what it is, and move on knowing it can't control me anymore.

    Hugs, you look great!

Well my mom used to tell my brother stuff like that when he was drinking lots of protein shakes and taking all those supplements, so I guess she just doesn't understand so explain it to her!

Perhaps it is less about how you look and more about how her fridge looks.

Just call her bluff and let her check your BMI.

tell her BMI says nothing, really: weight and height ratios not taking into account actual body-fat percentages can't say anything about how fat or obese one is.

if she really must insist, ask her to take caliper readings. above 25% is considered obese.

BMI is a very misleading indicator. It does not take into account body composition. You could be(for example) 5'10" and 180 lbs shredded and according to BMI charts you're overweight.

but you are overweight if you're 180lbs and 5'10". All athletes and bodybuilders are overweight, with sexy, curvy muscles :p

Yea, all body builders are over weight. Notice it's over weight and not over fat. Weight is how heavy you are with muscle, fat, bones, etc...
