I was 7 I think when I saw my first episode of TOS and found the story plus morality of the series interesting. Then I occasionally watched TNG(mainly because I had a crush on Will Wheaton. When DS9 came out I was completely into it. I couldn't wait for the next episode.

I actually got my family into it because I would watch every rerun and new episode. If you knew my family you'd find that hard to believe.

It makes me sad that we may never see DS9 on bluray(maybe that has changed, I haven't been keeping up) due to how the effects were done.

I wasn't a big fan of voyager but still saw every episode. And I was finally enjoying Enterprise when they decided to end it.

The original series was pretty heavy handed at times with the morality. In the later series this was quite often shoved off to the background or ignored entirely. I felt that they rarely found the middle ground where the writing was a little more subtle.

Star Trek: TNG all the way! I watched all of the next generation episodes, I wasn't in love with Season 1 but everything after was amazing. My favourites were Data, Beverly, Guinan, Riker, Picard... better stop before I name the entire crew.

Love Star Trek... inspired me how to be idealistic and value scientific/engineering knowledge, not greed, power, nor wealth... these are things of the past... it inspired me to live selflessly... but SG-1 is more entertaining. Love SG-1 for the down-to-earth characters...Star Gate Atlantis is a little over the top with the Wraiths, but still good.

my favorite series would have to be Voyager (cue the hate) followed by DS9. I did enjoy TNG but the lack of continuity across episodes left something to be desired. Voyager showed a small crew of individuals working together to survive something they were never meant to. That's what i took away from it. And DS9 was interesting politically.

Favorite shows of all time. Gene Roddenberry depicted the future and how he saw it in each episode. I grew up with star trek and I'm glad its more popular than ever! I watched the voyager series 4 times already ;)

Few things make me happier than Star Trek. I've watched every episode of every series countless times over. There's also a room in my house packed full of all the Star Trek toys and trinkets that I've accumulated since I was a kid. My boyfriend lovingly dubbed it 'The Bridge.' We have a store here in Columbus called 'Starbase Columbus' that constantly feeds my obsession.

I have EVERY Star Trek series on DVD. Have to say my favorite is Voyager.
Believe it or not, my 2nd fav is Star Trek Enterprise.
I know, I know.....I don't know why. I just liked it.

But someone please explain to me why on a starship, even the "primitive" Enterprise, you had to push a button on the walls for the doors to open? I mean WTF....supermarkets have had auto doors since I've been alive!!!

Anyway, HUGE sci-fi fan here!

I used to watch TNG but for some reason lost interest in all of the Star Trek stuff as I aged... the funny thing is it's sort of left me with a real interest in astronomy. Love watching documentaries about anything space/universe

Star Trek was good, but it had one problem -- no hot guys until Tom Paris on Voyager. Frankly, even he wasn't that special.

Hey, Star Trek wasn't like Dynasty or Days Of Our Lives... its not meant to be fapworthy. The ST universe is about exploring our what it means to be human and humane, not only as a collective, but as an individual. So, I guess maybe you do have some reason to want a hottie on deck?

Wow, only a true fan could like those lol. I could stand Enterprise but Voyager... I didn't bother watch all of it.

And the doors opening automatically is probably just so that if it's someone's room or something you have to open it after getting their permission? And for normal doors like hallways or whatever going to general areas like 10-Forward, I have no idea except that maybe they want to make it seem like in the future turning doorknobs becomes pushing a button?

My question is where are the bathrooms on the Enterprise?

Edit: I was going to bring this up in another post but I guess now would be a good time to say it... Gene was going to introduce a gay character on the crew of TNG but he died before that could be implemented. He wanted to show that the future would have gays and no one would even treat it like it's anything different.

I love VOYAGER's opening credits, especially when the "camera" passes through the planetary rings.
