Do you prefer a jock to a pretty or good looking guy?

I myself prefer a jock, or a masculine guy. Why? pretty men tend to be (emotionally) HIGH maintenance. Too much attention can cause more problems then its worth.

I prefer pretty boys...maybe because I am from Asia and largely influenced by the asian media. Though I consider masculine guys sexy, and I am not saying that I don't like masculine jocks at all, they seem to be better for one-night or hooks ups instead of for a relationship. I rarely really admire guys who have masculine features and sexy body but without beautiful face.

I'll take a little of both! Seems like a perfect combination to me.

Right, like keeping a ripped midsection like yours doesn't require a lot of high maintenance? Let's get real, shall we?

gym bunnies are not REAL jocks, although realjocks do gym occasionally.... pretty men are usually catalog model types..... Also I work out at home, being active all day, don't have a gym membership anywhere ... hate the crowded gym and noise..... about maintenance... Working out is fun and making one feel good (endorphins, dopamine, and other feel good chemicals) ... not a maintenance or a chore at all...... While some people take smoke breaks, I take a handstand break every 20 min.

i like a guy who's a little of both, sort of like me. I care enough about my appearance to do things like pay attention to skin care, nail care and general appearance above the average "guy" but i'm actually low-maintenance and low-drama. I don't like complaining unless its absolutely necessary and I can't handle people who complain about moronic things (example: my insane roommate wanted to complain to management about her towel bar. She said it squeaked too much)

The idea that "pretty men tend to be HIGH maintenance" is a bit dated, the same way saying "pretty women tend to be HIGH maintenance" is a bit sexist. Some guys are just better at it than others. When you're good at looking good (or don't have to work too hard to accomplish it) it doesn't require as much "maintenance".

If forced to choose, and like most of you I'd like both, I'd go with good looking. However the OP said pretty or good looking, so I'd want a good looking guy which means face AND body. I wouldn't want say a boxer who's got a good body, but who's face has been smashed to bits.

To clarify....By maintenance, I meant emotional maintenance, not hygiene or physical maintenance. I'm all for hygiene (organic rules).

When all is said and done, a guy who is not AAM(All About Me), caring, has a good income, and is independent, is the best to find. Pretty boys, and muscular guys may be a fantasy but usually fairly high maintenance and high drama.

Not sure... not in love with himself is great; but not getting bent out of shape for something that doesn't effect him is a plus too. I like my guys to be content with what they look like; if they're going to change, it's for themselves, not me. Not a douchebag is also a major plus.

aha, gotcha. well, i guess i don't like those either very much. I came from a family that gave me enough drama and trouble to deal with in 25 years than I'd care to handle in a lifetime. I need someone relatively stable if attraction is a goal.

and STOP REPOSTING THIS GUY!! HE'S TOO DAMN HOT!!

Because a jock only has one body type.

you missed my point, I think

I go for handsome over pretty any day. As far as jocks go muscles do not equal being a jock or athletic. I am proof of that. haha. But yeah definitely give me a handsome man any day (i.e. Christopher Meloni)

    I didn't realize I could just pick guys off a menu. icon_confused.gif

How about I go for a guy who's reasonably attractive, mostly sane, and cares about me? Then I can worry about being the best boyfriend I can, and I can be grateful for what I have. icon_neutral.gif
