I'm not signing the petition. In the same manner that interracial marriage had to protected by the Supreme Court in 1976, I was this in federal court now was well. But with an added bonus. I want, and yes I hold my faith to a high standard, separation of church and state shove down the throats of the 31 states along with North Carolina that now have discrimination as law. And for good measure, if such pastors and ministers want to spit in the fact of that tenet of the 1st Amendment, I want them stripped of there tax exempt status. No I will not sign that petition to repeal, but I will sign a petition to sue the aforementioned states and have all struck down. And as I said on my facebook page, I am done with North Carolina. I will be moved out of this state before it takes affect. I, personally, will not live in a state that would so blatantly marginalize and discriminate against me and those like me.

You people should read more history. The fact that this issue even came up for battle in North Carolina is a miracle in itself. This was definitely a shot across the bow from the gay people. If the fight happens in N.C. it is coming to every other state. The gays actually won a victory today that there was even a fight at all on this issue in North Carolina. But that's just based on the fact that I'm a student of U.S. history is all.

I think the point of the petition is to say we aren't going away, more so than actually pushing to repeal. As such I signed it, even though it will not have the stated impact.

    Good for you!

The backlash was immediate. Everybody - and I do mean everybody - I've been in touch with (especially those with roots in NC) have voiced a similar position.

Move out of the state and take your money and your businesses with you. Head to a state that protects you from discrimination, not one that expects you to conform to it!

That is correct. It is not an official petition to create a bill to repeal it. It was created to make a statement.

Assuming the court does not refuse to hear our plea as they have in the past with other gay issues.

6 guys and 3 chics and not a pair of balls among them.

Give us our human rights you fucking bastards.

I dont sign stuff like that. It makes no difference. What makes a difference is money and action. And in this case, a repeal vote is retarded. What is needed is a legal firm willing to challenge the constitutionality of the amendment and fighting it in court.
