Hey, Are there any Doctors in the house?

Have a question. Had to have my nose cauterized (spelling?) last night.
    (6th time this year.)
Everything was fine all day today. Just a few minutes ago, while getting dressed for dinner, my nose started to bleed again. NOTHING like yesterday. But it's a constant few drops now every minute.
My question is, should I wait and see until Monday and see my GP? Or should I go to the Urgent Care now.
(So not into having this done for the umpteenth time! icon_mad.gif )
    Thanks,
    Tristan

OK.....about an hour later. Still bleeding. Just timed the drops...avg is about 20 drops per minute. icon_confused.gif

Think I will pack well, and wait it out.

    Yeah go to a doctor?

Is it cause your blood is thinning? Dehydrated?

Well if you can afford it, go to the hospital!

    Be safe.

Did you try an ice pack to the forehead?

Pinching the nose and holding it right where you feel that "notch" in your nose?

    Are you taking Aspirin?

Nose was broken a year ago in an accident.
Has been an issue when I push hard in the gym, get really aggravated (I know, sounds stupid right?), or when it gets whacked.
My 110lb German Shep, whacked me in the nose with his head last night while putting on his leash. icon_rolleyes.gificon_redface.gif

    Thanks!!! icon_wink.gif

Tristan, you're not going to bleed to death at that rate. If you pack it tight and clamp your nostrils for a half hour without fail, it will stop bleeding. then make a routine visit on Monday. Half hour -- no cheating. icon_wink.gif

Had to have my nose cauterized last night. So pinching is not an option. No, no aspirin.
    Thanks!

Accident? Or calling another gay guy a "traitor" or something equally outrageous?

No, mine was from a motorcycle accident.
But the fact that you are the self-loathing, traitorous, Gay republican hypocrite you are, I'm sure you know how it feels to be punched in the face.
From the looks of it, you speak from a lot of experience.

He was prolly fighting for gay rights unlike gay republicans who support Romney and are basically traitors to the LGBT community- like yourself.

And if you dont have any viable medical advice to offer, just keep your fucking mouth shut. This stalking people from thread to thread is flat out uncalled for.

Tristen, just put a cold pack on your nose and watch TV for an hour until you stop bleeding. Sorry to hear your dog did it but it happens and sure the dog feels bad. Just take it easy at the gym till it is better and do not overdo yourself. Good luck to you there and agree with the guys that say if nothing good to say then do not say nothing.
    Have a good weekend....Brian

Well guys, thanks to most of you for the advice and the emails.
But I just pulled out the tissue that I put up there, and it's bleeding quite a bit.
So my game plan is to pack it well tonight, and get to the Urgent Care facility in the morning for another cauterization!! AUGHH! This one tomorrow will make 7 in 11 months! icon_mad.gif

Not my idea of a Saturday night!!! icon_rolleyes.gif

I have to deal with southbeach1500 doing this all the time to me, and a few others here.

But as for Tristan, I think this is something for a doctor to see and evaluate. Constant hemorrhaging is not normal. See a doctor, quick.

"Ignore His Posts", Tristan. SouthBeach continues to be a source of rancor and discord. I regret having advocated for his return the last time he as banned. The "Free Speech" argument no longer applies in his case (IMHO) because he has a continual track record of asshatery akin to that nut job at the Westboro Baptist Church, or a "flag burner".

Short of him posting a vid of self-immolation with gasoline, the closest thing that anyone can do to bring relief to this community is to simply make him irrelevant by ignoring and blocking him. This goes for all the other ilk of his kind who are, likewise, a waste of skin.

Just think, waccamatt! They're going to get to enjoy ANOTHER 4 years of Obama, and God willing, a Democratic Party supermajority in the Senate and a majority in the House of Representatives.

Savor their sour. We did for 8 long years under the worst president in U.S. history: George W. Bush.

Also, avoid eating garlic. It's a natural blood thinner.

    Will do...lol

Well I just had to re-pac the re-pac again. It was literally pouring out of the cauterized nostril. So I just shoved a wad of gauze (spelling) up there and followed that with 1/2 a styrofoam peanut. LOL! That should hold it through the night.
I will sleep sitting up. Feeling a bit lightheaded, so sleep won't be an issue. ;) Plus I just drank some Nyquil. That usually knocks me out.

When you do get medical attention, ask about clotting time. If your blood is too thin, there are changes in diet that would reduce the clotting time. Sorry to hear of the situation. Get well.

Are you sure they know why you are having so many nose bleeds? It's a bit concerning that you're getting so many and have had to have multiple cauterizations? Have they done blood work to make sure all your clotting factors and other blood values are in the normal range?

Sry for you man, hope it's not something too serious..
The only advice I can give you = don't look up, most people's reaction is to look up to stop the nosebleeding.. And def. see a doc. asap..
    Wish you well..

Dude, Had this problem when I was in my late teens...my nose would start to bleed for now reason. ENT doc also cauterized lots of aeras in my nose. Three things that helped a lot:

    a) basic saline nasal spray (such as "Ocean") used several times a day just to keep everything moist

    b) If I did get a nosebleed, two to three sprays of Afrin in eahc nostil, which would constrict the blood vessels and help the bleeding stop (it's what the ER would do before applying pressure and, in two cases, packing my nose.)

    c) 5 to 10 mintes in the steam room (NOT sauna!!!!!!) a couple times a week to get the moisture deep into the sinuses.

these tow steps, especially making sure my nsala passages stays moist elminated the nose bleeds.
