in time things should get better ...as long as you dont keep eye contact with that person ...things will change...you will change for the better ...i dont know...it kinda worked a while for me ...but now that that person is back its kinda hard ...you cant ever completely erase something out of your mind unfortunately but you will find comfort again icon_razz.gif just be strong

I've realized that there is no pill you can take, nor any therapy you can do, to forget someone. You just gotta feel the the feelings until you don't feel them anymore.

You just get stronger. You are the sum of your past, not a division or fraction

Did you learn something from that person? If you didn't he/she will never go away

I don't know if it is possible to forget someone totally. Time will heal everything in time. Let go of painful memories and hold on to the good ones.Trying to do that in my life.

IMO , I dont think forgetting someone is a good idea if that person was so special to you.
Just keep them and those beautiful memories in your mind because they used to be a part of your life.
    The time will heal everything.
But dont let the sadness and something bad make things to be worse.
Hope you fine and dont bother my grammar icon_biggrin.gif

    To get amnesia...

Or even better - just walk through the pain and come out the other side. You will be better and stronger in the long run.

You wouldn't really want to, even if you could. Good or bad, our experiences help shape who we are.

WHY? Has this person hurt you with one unintentional act .........or are you finally becoming aware of a pattern of disrespect or abuse that you are no longer willing to accept?

Why would u want to? Ppl's live cross paths for reason and purpose to teach and learn about self and others. How u decide to respond be ill mannered or grand has more to say about u rather than those u choose to forget or remember.

I've been on this planet at least twice as long as you have and I have news from the future:

The people who you meet in life and forget, were not meaningful to you in the first place. The people who you remember and can never forget have touched you deeply in some way.

These people (or their memories) who linger, are the ones we are meant to learn from. Could be positive, could be negative, either way, its how we learn, balance, and grow. You can't erase the past, because otherwise you have no direction for the future.

You don't. After a while, you stop thinking about that person in a manner that affects you strongly.

Eliminating things that may remind you of that person helps.

Seriously, I can't watch Seasons 1-3 of Family Guy anymore.

I'm sure there are people from my past I've completely forgotten but it's hard to know for sure.

Been trying it for almost two months. Not working too well. I've tried every Jedi mind trick imaginable.

    Completely? Very unlikely.

But time is like tides, and will slowly erode it away. The edges get soft pretty quickly.

If it were a crush or BF, I always say the best way to forget an old love is with a new love.

But a friend or family member? I dunno. I've managed to do it, though. I turned my back on a sister who hates me for being gay, no contact for 15 years. Nor do I have contact with any relative.

My partner is my family now, and his relatives have accepted me as family, too. Amazing & wonderful to me. And this gay community in which I live is my family. It seems I traded one family for another, and I think I got the better deal. icon_biggrin.gif
