Do you peak at a certain point in the race?

I seem to peak around the 6 - 7 mile mark, I suddenly get into the run and feel I can run for ever, this feeling tends to wear out around mile 10. First two miles of a run are almost to the point of pain.

I experience the same thing. Feel amazing from about 12km, push way to hard thinking I'm invincible and then crash and burn at 25km.

Yup - know that feeling. I'm wondering if when I'm training I should concentrate at race speed from mile 2 to mile 5...

do u include enough sprints in ur wkouts? if ur wkouts only include distance, ur prob not getting the "bursts" that come with sprinting that every racer needs.
