What is it with guys calling other guys Girl/Gurl? We are gay yes but we are still guys. If anyone was talking to me and said "I hear you girl". I think I would knock there teeth out.

    What are your thoughts?

I dont mean any disrespect. I just dont get it. I personally would be offended if someone called me a girl. Im a guy who happens to like other guys. But im still a man.

ugh...I think I just threw up...

    I hate this as well.

I'm sure it's because I've got some f'd up Freudian psychological thing going with my own masculinity, but really. I'm a guy. Or a man.

Do not put me in the category of a female. Ever.

Say it to me in a conversation, and I'm very likely to correct you on the spot.

Say it to me chatting online, and I'll never chat with you again.

It's really that simple, for me.

    i think its funny!

in a way I see it as the black community reclaiming the "n" word as their own. Its kinda like gay men are claiming it for their own.

For me I dont use the N word (I get what your saying though). But what are guys claiming? I know there are effeminate guys out there. For me its just my lack of understanding when it comes to that. I had come out to my straight friend last year and he asked about another friends upcoming wedding I was in. He ask if I was now one of the bridemaids. I told him im the same guy he has known for 10 years.

There are a handful of my friends who I affectionately call "girl." Like a1972guy said, if the heels and purse fit...

There are reasons certain phrases or names eat away at us, and typically it stems from our past. You are of course inclined not to approve anyone calling you this if it really gets under your skin. Otherwise, just let loose!
