Mitt Romney had mentioned that he was fine with adoption. However last Friday, he clarified his remark by saying he will "simply acknowledge the fact that gay adoption is legal."

Yet again Romney reminds me of this joke goin' round:

"A liberal, a centrist and a conservative walks into a bar.

The bartender sez: "Hello again, Mr, Romney!"

If Romney comes out and says sodomy should be illegal, will you still support him? I'm just curious if a line in the sand exists for you.

Yes it is. He's going from a supportive stance to just acknowledging that it is legal.

From: "I also know many gay couples are able to adopt. That's fine."

To: "So I simply acknowledge the fact that gay adoption is legal in all states but one."

WRONG! Retreating from saying "Gay couples are able to adopt -- That's fine" would be him saying "It Is NOT Fine for Gay couples to adopt". All Romney did was make the point that gay adoptions are legal in most states". Just because Romney did not repeat the "That's fine" statement doesn't make it a retreat.

AMoonHawk saidTypical republican, they say anything to get them elected and to do what ever they want once they are in office.

LOL! I know a pretty prominent Democrat who does the very same thing. First he was for gay marriage, before he was against gay marriage, before he was now for gay marriage. Politicians say things to get elected -- it's just what they do -- and those things are usually very specifically timed with a purpose for the most effect. In the case of Obama coming out for gay marriage, I'm not so sure the main purpose was so much to get elected as it was to raise lots of money to help him get elected. That said, regardless, I do hope he sticks with this incarnation of his stance on "Gay Marriage".

Until he makes a "Gay Adoptions are WRONG" statement, I'm going to assume he has not retreated on his original statement

And his devoted cult followers of gay republicans are working overtime trying to defend each Etch A Sketch moment. Defending Mitt is a full time job in itself.
