    Vienna - Prague - Budapest - Krakow:

Looking to take a trip to one or more of these places soon. Anyone experienced with them, or live there? I'm much more into architecture and seeing the countryside and people, than a bunch of circuit clubs... but I do want a relatively gay friendly city, with some nightlife/coffeeshops etc, that's generally safe to be on the streets.

Also, any thoughts on train travel between them, or to what degree the locals (outside of the tourism industry) speak English? Thanks in advance...

LOL! All of these places would be considered Central Europe really. Eastern Europe basically begins with the former Soviet countries.

Austria and Czech Republic are gay-friendly countries, so you're good to go with Vienna and Prague. Hungary isn't as gay friendly, but I think you'd be fine in Budapest. Poland is homophobic, though. In general, gay life is more visible and tolerated in the cities versus the country.

As for English-speaking abilities, they tend to decrease the farther east you go. So you'll have a fair amount of people in Prague and Vienna who know English, whereas people in Krakow and Budapest won't be nearly as fluent.

All of the cities you've mentioned are great.

Prague is overrun with tourists and quite expensive - just a heads up.

Gay scene - I have no idea.

    Beer scene - fking amazing!

Prague seems the best all-around "old world" city and relaxed culture, or Vienna though it seems to be getting expensive as of late.

Yeah, not sure about the Greek economy now with everything going on, or planning for anything other than an immediate trip there.. Mykonos is probably detached enough from that; cool that you got to experience it.
