So this news is about a month old, but now that it's nearing the 20th I thought I'd revive an issue that could impact the upcoming days in Chicago in a big way.

    Here's the article
    http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2012/04/29/nato-summit-security-chicago/

Apparantly, on May 20th there will be a NATO summit located in downtown Chicago where leaders from around the world come to discuss abcxyz. Now Im no expert on what the motives are with this NATO summit, but they already have loads of protesters waiting to protet. Higheays will be closed, there will be mo fly zones, etc. It's said the NATO summit “may create unrest or another national security incident. The American Red Cross in southeastern Wisconsin has been asked to place a number of shelters on standby in the event of evacuation of Chicago.”

Huge event with foreign dignitaries and high-ranking officers: this is just normal planning for the history city. Nothing unusual at all.

More misleading news to distract people in the states from actual issues?
    I think so.

Nice time to either take advantage of the shitty situation everyone will be in like, or take a trip out of town until everything is gone.

I would be shocked if every major city in the US didn't have an emergency evacuation plan ready for immediate implementation. Given the world we live in with NBCs and natural disasters, you better hope your city has one.

    So I'm bumping this.

Apparantly, the police were no joke in Chicago:
    http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSBRE84I09X20120521?irpc=932

More than 500 National Guard troops were activated alongside 3,100 Chicago police assigned to NATO security and 700 Illinois state troopers. The total number of armed personnel in Chicago this weekend war close to 5,000.

Chicago Police say the arrested over 60 people (no exact figure yet) have been arrested with terrorist related crimes since Friday. 3,000 attended the protest. 12 have been been injured.

    • "This is what police brutality looks like," said Ryan Zielinski, 23, a protester who said he was hit in the chest with a baton as police pushed protesters back. "All we're trying to do is protest and the police are attacking us."

•Hundreds of demonstrators, reporters and photographers were hemmed in by lines of blue-helmeted police, pushing them back with plastic shields.

    • Before the summit began, five men were arrested on terrorism-related or bomb-making charges. Three of those charged were plotting to attack Obama's campaign headquarters, police stations and other targets, according to court documents. Defense lawyers said the three were entrapped by police informants.

    • Matt Howard, a former U.S. Marine who served in Iraq, was one of nearly 50 veterans who threw service medals into the street near the summit site in protest.

All in all, Chicago seemed to intentionally ignite fear in Chicago. To prevent the people from ever thinking they can freely protest the government. Obama is no stranger to Martial Law...

Just to give some perspective here are some "poop" bombs taken by the police when arresting some protesters heading into the city. The police were pretty brutal by arresting these innocent people who only wanted to throw flaming containers of feces at police icon_rolleyes.gif

Well, ironically, The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) of 2012 which sought to provide Barack Obama the power to indefinitely detain citizens without benefit of their 5th Amendment rights, was just shot down earlier this week to be revised.
He signed the bill in the very beggining of the year.
