My mom used to try to give me baby food when the baby was that young...

    I could never lol.

    That stuff scares me now.

Mashed up peas... Mashed up turkey... Mashed up Macaroni and Cheese.. eeyuck...

Now they have specialized solid foods just for babies like Gerber Cheese doodles... uh why are we already training our kids to enjoy junk foods that will eventually turn their insides orange and get them fatter later?....

However, my little brother (9 y/o) and little sister (12 y/o) absolutely loved them.

Actually there is a cookbook out from Jerry Seinfeld's wife Jessica all about pureeing vegetables and how to make things like chicken nuggets, brownies, and other type foods much healthier with pureed fruits and vegetables instead of flour, sugars, and salts.

After talking to several cooks and friends they said you can skip the pureeing and go straight for the baby food in most if not all of these recipies. I am going to try it out one of these days...I'll let you know how it goes.

I actually had a Pro Bodybuilder trainer for several years who use to buy cans of baby food for snacks and such. The nutrients were very high. I just could not bring myself to do it, probably why I'm still a rail. Anyway, he loved it.

actually when I was in high school my coach had someone come in and talk to my track team about nutrition and stuff and he suggested having baby food as a snack or something along that line...

and after reading everyone's reactions to this post I'm kind of scared to be say that I've been buying baby food on and off for about 5 years now icon_redface.gif haha I usually have it after a meal if I'm still hungry or when I just want something to munch on... or slurp I guess.

its really not that bad tasting, its kind of like apple sauce... I recommend the Dutch Apple icon_biggrin.gif although I think its more of a dessert baby food or something, but whether its good or bad for me its to late, I'm in the habit of eating it

HAHA That's so funny! I used to eat baby food as snacks in High school. Some people thought it was weird, and some people started dong it.

But this is coming from me, the guy who sometimes snacks on Animal crackers while drinking strawberry nesquick. icon_redface.gif

No, but when I was very small, I used to hide in the closet with my dog, and we'd both enjoy snacking on some dog food between meals.
