    Hey Guys,

Just wondering... I'm sure many of you have read or heard someone say that you should be keeping a food diary if you want to achieve whatever health and fitness goals.

So, my question is, do you keep track of what you eat? If you do, how do you keep track (app, pen and paper...)?

Curious minds would like to know... icon_smile.gif

    Through my Android App-

    http://www.myfitnesspal.com/

Its very good it tracks calories, protein, fats, carbs, etc. -you can get reports of nutrition, sodium, etc. Additionally, you can enter exercise routines as well-Just enter what you are eating, it will search the database to see if its a hit and then you advise of the portion you are taking. It then displays calories consumed during breakfast, lunch or dinner as well as any snacks.

No, although I take note if I eat something that I don't usually include in my diet that causes me stomach troubles, or noticeably affects my energy levels or something like that. I've done the food diary thing in the past and it made me obsessive; I didn't like that :S

I track what I buy, but don't track what I've eaten; though I'm careful about what I choose to eat.

Once in a while. Maybe every couple of years, I'll run everything over the scale for a week and add it all up. It always says I need to eat more. What? How?

I watch what I eat, I'm careful about what I eat, I eat clean with few if any cheat meals, but I don't track what I eat. Well, once I did because I couldn't figure out how I kept losing so much weight even though I was stuffing my face and it turned out I was taking in only 1800 calories per day. If I were to guess now I'm taking in 2500-3000 per day. If I were smart I'd start tracking everything and up my calories to 5000-6000 per day to see if I can get much bigger while staying reasonably lean but it seems to involve too much minutiae!

I've used myfitnesspal but for me, the UI is just terrible. And, I'm not as into counting calories as I am just knowing what I eat (Even though we all think we eat salads all day, there's that office candy and what not that creeps in).

Anyway, maybe I'll play with it again and see if I can get with it.
