I know that you can't work out every day of the week (or so I'm told) so I was wondering how many rest days/periods you should take? Someone once told me that after like 3 months of straight training you should take a week off and do nothing. Is that wise? And also during a work out week, how many days of rest are suggested?

I normally workout 3-4 days a week, and take a week off every couple months.
But that's after a couple years of working out and trying different things to figure out what works best for my body.

normally I´ll have a couple of days off a week and a week off every 3 months. If my body wants more I take it.

You have to see what works for you. Listen to your body.

Rest is as important as exercise. Without sufficient time to recover, you`ll just end up injured.

For me, it`s two rest days a week(or so), a day off between workouts, and never do the same type of exercise two days running.

All of this is an ideal, of course, not always achieved!

Thanks for the help guys, just sometimes I worry about my rest days because it's like I feel that I'm losing out on a work out even if my body feels like crap.
