Hey guys, I just moved to San Francisco. I'm very excited to be here, but I don't know a soul, so I'm looking to get involved and make new friends (and only friends...I have a bf who lives out-of-town). I'm looking for guys to run, cycle, swim or workout with. (Live across the street from the Golden Gate Park.) Also interested in hiking, outdoor activities, art, etc.

Would love to know of training groups to check out if you have suggestions or just hit me up if you're open to meeting with a newbie. Thanks! - Will

I would love a workout partner but I live in San Jose. Too far? icon_smile.gif
No one goes hiking with me, the gym, or ever attempts an active life style. I should find new friends lol

Hey, welcome to SF! There are so many opportunities for fitness here, you have to choose your poison. Which gym did you join?

    Thanks guys. Keep it coming.

As far as gyms, haven't picked one yet. Doing a bit of looking this week. I'm used to the big gyms with everything...pool included. Don't think I'll find that in my neighborhood (Upper Haight). Any suggestions?

hey..welcome to SF....you should run with the gay running group called sf front runners...they are very welcoming and friendly...they meet at 9 am on saturday mornings near stow lake in GG park....see link.

    http://www.sffr.org/

on any give day, there are about 100 people. mostly gay, a few lebians, visitors, and a few kids of gay couples, a few dogs.

they have 1 mile walks--to a 5 miles run to the ocean and back... which is what most folks do they then meet again at 10 am for announcement, after which some people drive out to the castro to get breakfast at 10.

    welcome to sf.

Thanks SundaySwim...will definitely check out the SF Frontrunners, especially since GG Park is where I'm already running.
