Saw this posted on Facebook and couldn't help but crack my shit up. It's quite true! However, the area they depict for NOVA extends a bit too far west. Also, I feel like Central Virginia is a lot of nothing until you get into Richmond and the Tidewater area.

I dunno about the drive fast part in the blue area. When I was in the area, the pace of life/people were pretty slow. icon_lol.gif

That pretty much sums up the VA right there. I loved my time in VA. Now if we can fix the politics there it will be perfect.

Pretty accurate...except I'd say the West Virginians are southwestern. Not really the whole middle belt. Also, NOVA is way too big on this chart lol...its a physically a lot smaller but has a huge population

Unfortunately the map fails to mention that the mountain and southwestern areas of the state are full of college towns. I mean, hell, most universities and colleges in this state are located in the middle of nowhere.

I'd hardly call Central Virginia a lot of nothing especially since two of the sexiest, most handsome men in the world live here.

Not to mention John Grisham, David Baldacci, Jessica Lange, Sissy Spacek, Connie Britton,Dave Matthews and others. There are at least 9 colleges and universities within 30 minutes of me. Four are among the most expensive in the country. People travel from all over the country to see the foliage in the fall in Central Virginia. This is horse country. This is farm country. This is God's country.

    Richmond - UR and VCU
    Charlottesville - UVA
    Willliamsburg - W & M
    Norfolk - ODU
    Fairfax - George Mason

    Middle of nowhere?

How could you forget JMU (alma mater!) in Harrisonburg? UMW in Fredericksburg (hometown!)? Or CNU in Newport News?

What is in Blacksburg besides Virginia Tech? What about Farmville besides Longwood? Or Lynchburg besides Liberty?

Well, perhaps I should've been clear on private schools in Virginia. There are a bunch of private colleges and universities in the middle of nowhere in VA. A lot of my friends who went to private schools here were in places in the state I had never even heard of!
