Alright.. So I'm listening to I Won't Give Up by Jason Mraz.... Glee did an absolutely amazing cover of it. I don't care of it. The only cover I haven't liked has been Mean by T-Swizzle. Lame. As Shit.

So what has been your fav Glee cover? I think mine has been

    On My Own...

Basically cos no one knows the troubles I've been through <3

just about all the songs they put out are quite painful to me... overproduced and/or poor covers. the only ones who consistently sing well for me are darren criss and amber riley. most of the cast can't really sing and even those who can, such as lea michelle, are given the wrong songs to sing. that and they kill about everything song with auto-tune.

I'm getting caught up still. Just saw episode 16- the disco episode. Probably the worst Glee episode I've seen, for music and contorting the plot to fit the songs of the week. And the episode before, with Blaine singing relationshippy songs to his brother..

Do you think they choose songs first and then write around that? That's the feeling I've been getting.

My absolute favorite was Joan Osborne's One of Us. The arrangement was amazing.

I also loved the Shake it Out a few weeks ago... the harmonies were fantastic.

Same with First Time Ever I Saw Your Face.

Darren Criss did a great job with Cough Syrup.

I don't like anything that Darren Criss has sung on the show. I know he is cute and feel that he gets a lot more songs due to that. And I hope that I never have to hear that fucking "Teenage Dream" version he and the Warblers did again.

Amber Riley and Lea Michele are the best singers on the show. Lea Michele's "Take a Bow" was far better than Rihanna's nasal version (damn, I hate her version and it was in heavy rotation for a while), and is probably my favorite cover.

Probably. Good point btw! Certainly seems like that this season. It's made the narratives really lame.

I feel that's a bit prejudiced. Most of them are incredibly talented. Listening to Lea Michele you can't deny that she's an insanely talented woman. Her version of Without You was so controlled and strong. And "Alone" by Kristen Chenoweth and Matt Morrison was brilliant. I think you should give it another go icon_smile.gif

Yes indeed true, they choose the songs and then write stories based on that, which makes many parts of the story go illogical or irrelevant. The way they force the characters' emotions makes me feel like nothing is being built in the stories cuz the producers will just force them to feel sth else anytime soon.

About the music, some are pretty good, i liked that Run Joey Run song and the mashup of Rumours has it / Someone like you.

Some of other songs sound so overdone for me, such as the latest one Somebody i used to know. Darren Criss sounded like Sam Tsui with his overdone covers.

I like the show.. how ironic - a gay guy likes glee icon_biggrin.gif .. but sometimes i turned it off just because of Rachel and Kurt... Those are my two least favourite characters - they are too annoying... My favs are definetely Mike, Santana and Britney

    ..aaand songs:
Joan Osborne - One of us
    Madonna - Like a prayer
    Fun - We are young
TLC - Unpretty (I feel pretty)
Michael Jackson - P.Y.T (Pretty young thing) ..and ABC
Amy Winehouse - Valerie .. Back to black was cool too..
Hit me with your best shot/One way or another mashup
    Constant Craving

Also I thing Say a little prayer suited Quinn perfectly in the pilot..

    I liked the first season.
Now, I find all of the music terrible, and most of the writing, pretty annoying.
Those clown outfits that Blaine and Curt are forced to wear, every episode, make me cringe.

Recently I've been liking Glee a lot less and less, but they still have some good songs that I add to my ipod. I don't like all of them, but there are quite a few a lot of what was mentioned above by people, which I need to add a couple more....also reminded me of this, which I thought was funny, "Say a Little Prayer" yup.

Pretty much anything Lea Michele does. Love that girl.

My personal favorites have been the Journey Songs, Edge of Glory, and Paradise By the DashBoard Lights.

Anything from Classic rock is usually amazing, but I love it all.

I like this one, too. I was listening to it today. If not my second favorite, then it is my favorite.

And Kristin Chenoweth's "One Less Bell to Answer" and "A House is Not a Home" were awesome.

I've tried to watch the show, mostly because of the hype about the show in threads here, but I can't make it through an episode. I just don't understand why it is so popular. I'm afraid of Americans.

Good thing I'm not American. I think you're being a little "holier than thou". It's a great show. I'll stick up for it anyday

Lea Michele has a great voice 8.5 outta ten times whatever she sings is great. However her cover of Hit Me Baby One More Time is horrible. Amber Riley and Naya Rivera are great to their duets are always good. Jenna Ushkowitz is really underused whenever she sings she's good as well. I also like Dianna Agron, unpopular opinion but when she has the right song she is good.

As for the guys I only really like Kevin McHale. Darren Criss is a great preformer but his songs are always auto tuned to hell. The rest of the guys are meh.

Jonathan Groff is great as well. Too bad he isn't a regular..
