I love alanis, but haven't kept up with her work for some reason.

Last I got was Feast On Scraps, which I didn't love as much as Under Rug Swept.

This song is meh for me. I know I won't ever grow to love it.

I think something more positive is a bit unexpected.

I am a big Alanis fan, either way. So, I like the song and I think she looks great.

    I'll download the album.

    :-D

Well it sounds quite "Alanis" to me... but... dear Alanis...

    LENS FLARE?

    Seriously?

I don't like it, then again I don't really care for her previous two albums either. Though I love "Eight Easy Steps" from so-called chaos, the rest feels lackluster.

Meh. Alanis hasn't had a really good album in a very long time. This song doesn't make me want to buy her new one.

I am a little surprised how many people do not care for it. Most of it is pretty good. I just dislike the main verse. I suppose the idea of somebody being my guardian or warden (or me being theirs) is so far removed from my reality that it makes me do a second take why anybody would consider that a promise rather than a threat to put them through hell the rest of their natural lives. Really? My keeper for life, my guardian... My warrior of care, my first warden?!? No thanks...

Aside from that, it is pretty good. Sort of like Leonard Cohen where she is more poet than singer but finds success putting verse to music.

I miss the angry Alanis. Her first two albums were classics but when I hear her music now I don't hear the same passion anymore.

I want this Alanis back !
