Great commercial! Great car too. Here's a series of commercials for a car I have a particularly soft spot for...'69 Mustang Mach 1.

Here's another great commercial for the 1968 GTO, Motor Trend Car of the Year. Bonnie and Clyde style, the actor does look like Warren Beatty, and the salesman is George Anderson from Peyton Place!

Did people wear semi-formal clothing to outings to places like theme parks?

And we did back then. nothing like the lure of the open road and given that we had a little over half as many folks in the USA at that time, it was open road.

Compared to Pontiacs and Buicks, Oldsmobiles were dull looking cars.

I know I'm biased, but nuttin like a 61 Ventura. I know I was an impressionable little kid back then and it took me another 40+ years to get one, but it's the end all be all to me.

Yes, people used to dress better. I remember that both of my grandmother's never left their houses without purse, gloves, and hat. I can remember my mother wearing gloves and hat every Sunday to church.

Even today, I can't go to town in anything grungy. I'll make sure my Wranglers are clean and I have on a clean long sleeved shirt.

I also remember in the late 60's and even the early 70's, people dressed up to fly.

Someone asked if people dressed that way going to theme parks. There weren't very many theme parks back then, or not as we know them today.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE vintage cars. If I had half a clue on how to restore one, I think I would invest....

Question: I don't remember the Jetfire (and during this time period, I knew virtually every car on the market). Wasn't this later renamed the Oldsmobile F85?
