It's all coming to a head with the kids younger than me because they're more blunt than I am!

The preacher was actually really calm and the gays where loud and annoying. It made us look bad. I wish a group of them would've just talked to him and made some mature intellectual arguments instead of yelling that he's just in the closet.( it looked like the shirtless kid in the animal hat was trying to do that) and if you didn't want to talk to him then keep doing ur pride thing.

Well they didn't catch that part on film, but the article says that the preacher ended up leaving... I wouldn't blame him though, I'm afraid of loud obnoxious teenagers as well.

OH is that what was going on in the Common on Saturday? ... I was en route to a birthday BBQ that afternoon and was like ... wow, busy day in the common--- I wonder whats going on.

Now, I am sad.... Youth Pride...I'm no longer "Youth". (Full fledged Pride is in a few weeks)

erm some of them were. the guys were quite rowdy while the girls were actually arguing... but honestly, you cant really argue anything of intellectual value with bigots. arguing with bigots is like playing chess with a pigeon, even if you had a really good move they knock over the pieces, shit on the board and then fly away back to their friends to brag about their victory.

I've got to agree with this.

Shouting at the deluded gentleman isn't going to change his perception of homosexuals, education will. Talking to him rationally, as some were attempting too, is more likely to change his perspective. While it may not happen, because they probably hold archaic values which can be interpreted to mean it's a 'sin', it's still more respectful to the other person. It's a shame that some people took it as an opportunity to harass the man, as he was doing to them, rather than being the bigger people and discussing the matter.

I'm afraid of quiet teenagers that silently devise elaborately malicious actions against those they hate.

I don't think its bad to put righteous thinking folk in their place, I mean what would the situation be if they were at a black festival like caribanna or an islamic shi'iite ashura procession? They dont have to agree with everything theologically nor should they shove their views on everyone else that's different.
