Are we listing OUR top ten of how to get out of a ticket, or what? I can take the bait, Cas.

Aside from the obvious - blow the cop - making a cop laugh is the best way to get out of a ticket! I once got out of a ticket for making a joke when a cop rudely commented that it was obvious I was gay. I said something like, "oh was it the jumbo rainbow dice or the S&M bumper sticker?" He got a kick out of it and I just got a really good warning. It was probably the only time I've gotten out of anything BY BEING a smart-ass.

Best way to prevent even getting pulled over: NOT SPEEDING!icon_idea.gif

I've found that offering a bj has poor results every time.....

....when the arresting officer is female.

Just recently I lost my drivers license, I don't remember where I put it.

I was driving on I-10 in Texas and I got pulled over for doing 75 in a 65 at night (80 during light) at like 6 in the morning or somewhere around that time. Well, I all I had was a photocopy of my drivers license for my gym card, luckily I still had my Texas Drivers license and he was able to look it up on his laptop and it was legit.

But I had no insurance because I forgot to put the new one in my car! I left it at my house, because I just got it in the mail.

He just gave me a speeding ticket and told me to fax in my insurance and it'll be fine. ;) But by the time I was let go the sun was already coming up, and I was able to do 80! icon_rolleyes.gif

So far I've never had a speeding ticket, despite never driving under the speeding limit (knock on wood). It pays to have lazy police officers

And I just thought you drove at 50mph in the fast lane with the blinkers on icon_cool.gif

There have been a few cops i would like to have blown, or done other things to, but haven't had the audacity to say.

I've generally been very successful with just being polite and showing respect, saying sir or officer seems to help, and as said above, if you can get them to laugh it usually helps.

Oh, he's not that kind of Asian. I do that. I also straddle two parking lanes every time. icon_cool.gif

Also... cops don't seem impressed with Kung Fu these days, what's up with that?

...ummm, how 'bout just don't speed?

...and the non-descript vehicle thing is true... drive a mini-wan and the cops won't clock you.

i've never received a speeding ticket and only 1 moving violation tickert... and twice i talked my way out of a moving violation ticket by apologizing like CRAZY

I set the cruise control at ~5 MPH over the speed limit, crank the tunes, and just cruise along. I never get stopped.

Alexandria is notorious for speed enforcement...our police have NOTHING else to do. ...but like Paradox we can get away with 5 mph over usually

If you're driving a car not registered to you and hand them your German-issued license (had to turn in the US one), there's really nothing they can do that doesn't involve lots of paperwork and more federal bureaucracy.

    I was still polite though.
