If time travel was available commercially would you utilize it? Where in time would you travel to?

I personally would not want to go back to any point in time.

I would love to go live with the Ancient Greeks and Romans. Times were so much better back then...

Churchill has a great passage on this question. I'll see if I can dig it up.

Backward? Probably not, except maybe as a study tool to see what life was really like back then. Forward would be much more interesting.

In theory I would love to but in practicality I do t think anyone should ever be allowed to, even if it is possible. Too much of a risk, changing history etc. too much power for anyone to have.

I think mankind in general has a really cartooned concept of what life what like 100's, 1000's of years ago. My best guess is if you were to plop a contemporary human let's say 100-150+ years back (and exponentially so the further back you go) they'd find life pretty much completely unbearable/unlivable and horribly, horribly different than what they expected it to be like.

When I was a kid there was a great TV program- "Time Tunnel." It was about one or two guys that got stuck in various time periods (something like a pre-'StarGate' but for Earth). I learned about time travel into history and saw hott men. Win-win for a gay kid.

Time were different. I'm not sure about being better. But yeah I would.

I have thought about it often. If I could have a wish I'd wish to be able to go to the past and live and be forever young while I did. Then get to this point and start aging again.

Have to wonder though. If events in the past were altered would things change or would it create an alt parallel universe.?

When would I travel to? The past would be intriguing but I'm more interested in the prospects of the future. Will people eventually see the truth between the difference in actions that cause harm versus actions that don't? That's something I'm kind of betting on with living my life. So it'd be nice to see if a future like that were on it's way.

Even if it weren't I'd just have to create the distortion that gives birth to that kind of future myself!

funny you you ask I just watched some show about the Universe on History channel and physicists on the show were talking about how we actually live in a "multiverse" and went on to discuss the possibility of travelling to a new Earth once we've royally fucked up this one too much for it to be habitable. Then they spoke of the possibility of time travel.
Funny to think they're actually working on that shit as I type this... it's just so Stewie Griffin! haha

It would be awesome to visit the past or future, but I think I'd find the present is the best place to live.... We'd see.

That's the only theory that's ever made sense in my mind. I've always envisioned that if you time traveled to the past it would create a tangential time line and not affect the "original" earth you came from.

I don't believe in time travel, but "The Time Traveler's Wife" is one of my all time favorite books.

If I could time travel, I'd like to spend some time with my great grandparents.

Yes everyone knows that time travel is subject to the speed of light so yes it is possible--unpractical but possible nonetheless...

JPtheBITCH saidAccording to Einstein's special theory of relativity, forward time travel is possible (and has already been done, in a tiny way).

I time travel forward all the time. See I just did it. And again. And again. And again now. And now. And now. And now. Still doing it. Still doing it!

    Just don't tell kill them!

If it were possible it'd been done already, cause if it happened due to the possibility, then there'd already be "signs", assuming we'd know what to look foricon_rolleyes.gif, in our current reality. It'd be etched into our history. We'd look at history and say, "wtf is this shitt?" Also, there'd be no way of knowingly interacting with a time traveller; cause that'd make the person look crazy, undo the reality that created whatever was altered and send us into some alternate universe, and mess up space time... I think?

I won't believe in it; until I know it exist for myself.

I would go back to the years when Jesus was alive, and see what really happened.
