No, actually, she just does what stupid people do when they're being challenged on something they've never really thought much about the implications of---she stubbornly digs in her heels and gets in way over her head. She's vaguely aware that she's coming off badly so she tries several times to shut down the inquiry. Cooper just keeps digging in though, I imagine partly for the lulz, of which there are plenty.

I consider this education of ridiculousness that our straight folk don't get to see about the church. way better than some cat rescue videos or crime report alerts about some black guy.

I've heard her view even here in the LA area from conservative christians. They think gay people are forcing their lifestyles on them which will destroy the nation. They even don't like the fact that some guys kiss each other on the lips like their husbands kiss them. So don't know where to start educating these types of people. Even being among them doesn't change their views. I've tried. It just softens their spoken views a little.

The part she cannot comprehend is that you can agree that homosexuality is wrong, but you cannot use such extreme figurative speech to get your point across without people reacting and "harping" on it.

I think it's a big assumption that the pastor was meaning the electric fence comments figuratively.

ECNAZ, her saying it was figurative is not the same as HIM (the pastor/priest) saying it was figurative. Did you watch the vid of him speaking?


He did not at any time give the impression he was speaking figuratively.
