    Watching the New York auditions.

The guy who just danced the soul of a 9/11 victim was good.

You know, sometimes SYTYCD moves me more than American Idol.

That's my homie...i've trained with him a few times. I knew if he tried out he was gonna make it through easily. Plus my other friend made it as well in Dallas (she was featured but she got airtime, she was the one who said she almost broke her toe.) Both are amazing and I know there are more people who I know from dancing who tried out this year.

It's gonna be a great season (hoping that everyone can pick up all of the styles.)

I've stopped watching Idol. There is something more pure about SYTYCD than ever existed with with Idol.

ja89, your buddy is freakin nuts man. That's some real talent. If he can also dance taller, with high, extended jumps and a bunch of pretty crap like that... holy shit. I could see somebody like that winning the show, for real. Kinda remind me of Russel. He was an all time favorite of mine.

i completely agree, i hope he's been working on that because he's like 5'5 and just powerful. We shall see how vegas went for him. He's the only one out of my friends who I don't know the outcome for when he got to vegas.

I didn't watch sytycd until last season so I'm still getting acclimated with the previous casts.

Just watched the trailer for the documentary "First Position."

    http://www.balletdocumentary.com/official-trailer/

I'm a little annoyed I didn't come across a foot stretcher at Capezios (57th St. or 50th?) First thing I see in the trailer is a boy using a foot stretcher. I didn't know they had that. Second, I didn't know they had the thing you put on the floor to help you develop turning.

I'd forgotten the first season was starting up. I'm no dance expert, but I think dancers have some of the best bodies on the planet. SYTYCD usually finds me wide-eyed and whispering "Dayum!" over and over. icon_smile.gif

If I could go back in time, I would convince my younger self to become a gymnast or dancer. Got the right height at least and I could use the body!

Last night's show was all right but they spent too much time on those annoying fame whore twins. And the choreography round seemed like it only existed to root out some cut guys and let in more blond contemporary girls...

    Snap.

These are the top two male finalists from the first season of the Canadian version, a few years ago: Miles Faber and Nico Archambault, who won and has gone on to choreograph for the show in subsequent seasons. Sadly CTV cancelled it last autumn even though the ratings were good.

I haven't watched last night's episode yet but I just watched the NY/Dallas auditions from the week before.

My dad is a ballroom dancer, and he made me watch the show with him during my senior year of high school (while I was involved in Exodus [ex-gay organization]). That was season 2, and the following year while I was away at college, I remember certain dancers and dances in season 3 that influenced my decision to leave Exodus. It was partially because they were so hot. And partially because they were living the kind of life they wanted to live. Soooooo thank you SYTYCD, and thank you, Daddio.

Tonight's cut to 20 should be intense.

The belly dancer is rocking it right now.
