    Well if proposition 8 is unconstitutional, that what is the hold up in permitting gay marriage in Californiaicon_question.gif

    So assuming the decisions are appealed at each step, how long are we plausibly looking at before a final decision?

    If it goes all the way to the Supreme Court, which it should, I don't think they'd decide till 6/13 at the earliest, maybe even sometime in 2014. This stuff moves slowly.

    There's also the DOMA case. The 1st Circuit Appeals Court in Boston just heard arguments. I'd guess they decide sometime this summer, so in Supreme Court in the fall or winter. Decision next spring.
